5th Pokemon GO Community Day May Feature Charmander and its Shiny Form

Update: Niantic Officially Announced Charmander as the Special Pokemon for the 5th Community Day event.

Now that the fourth Pokemon GO Community Day event featuring Mareep has ended, the next question in line is what Pokemon will be highlighted on the fifth Community Day event. There are some rumors spreading across the Pokemon GO community that the special Pokemon coming in May is Charmander along with its shiny form.

The 5th Pokemon GO Community Day special Pokemon rumor has started a few hours ago when a Reddit user shared a screenshot of the conversation between him and Niantic support. Although the screenshot looks legit, we are still unsure if this information is legit.

If this rumor is true, then catching a Charmander is not a waste of Pokeball. Just to give you some idea, a fully evolved Fire-type Pokemon can learn a move called Blast Burn. This move has a similar stats to Frenzy Plant, the special move featured during the 3rd Community Day. So in case Niantic plans to match Frenzy Plant and Blast Burn, then Charizard could replace Moltres for having the highest DPS Fire-type Pokemon in the game.

In addition to the special move, please be reminded that during every Community Day, Niantic is releasing the shiny form of the special Pokemon. Meaning that trainers can also get a chance to capture Shiny Charmander, Shiny Charmeleon, and Shiny Charizard.

If this rumor turns out to be legit, Charmander will be one of the best Community Day event of 2018. Sit back and relax until Niantic announces (likely tomorrow) the featured Pokemon for the next Community Day event.
