While no one expected for a release of a new battle royale game on Monday, February 4th, Respawn Entertainment has announced and released Apex Legends on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
The game was previously leaked and rumored a few days ago, however, we did not hear any update from the developer during that time. With fans getting curious about the rumor each day, Respawn Entertainment has surprised their followers by officially launching the rumored game.
Now, just a few hours after its launch, Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zampella has revealed on his Twitter account that the free-to-play Apex Legends already managed to hit more than 1 million unique players.
I’m so overwhelmed right now, @PlayApex broke a million unique players in under 8 hours. ❤️❤️❤️

Seeing this number for just under 8 hrs after the game officially launches is a piece of good news for a game developer. To support their fellow game developer, Cory Barlog, God of War director sent a congratulation Tweet to Respawn for the success of the game. In addition to his notes, Barlog also added a sneaky question about the Star Wars game.
Holy crap, Huzzah to you and the team, Vince!!! ❤️🍻
That is awesome! To celebrate maybe you can share some Star Wars stuff? 😬
Just kidding, I can wait.

Apart from hitting more 1 million unique players, Apex Legends also managed to grab the most viewed live stream on Twitch. One of the most popular Twitch streamers who played the game is Shroud who seems like he really enjoyed the first few hours playing the game.
Apex Legends is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One for free!
