One of the foundations of the video game industry is Atari and its creative game creations. However, the company did not manage to continue its legacy and it shut down last 1984. Though the original Atari is gone, the game branding still lives today in some form. To celebrate its contribution to the game industry, Atari announced to release Atari Flashback Classics to the Nintendo Switch this year.
Atari Group has revealed that they will be joining the Game Developers Conference (GDC) later this month, along with the announcement of the games that have been lined up for the Atari Flashback Classics. In addition, the company revealed that these games will be available for Switch.
According to the sources, Atari has planned to release the classic games in volumes – each containing 50 classic games – which have been previously launched on other game consoles. Though there is still confirmation which of these volumes will be coming on Switch this year. It is expected that Atari will be revealing more details once the GDC 2018 starts next week.
