Fortnite’s Frozen Monster at Polar Peak Escaped, Where Did It Go?

Looking for the frozen monster at Polar Peak? Well, the release of Fortnite update v9.20 just freed the trapped ice monster and it is now hiding and preparing for its return

Epic Games has just released update v9.20 in Fortnite which brings a lot of new features and changes on the map of the game. One of the most noticeable changes on the map is the destruction of Polar Peak where the trapped monster is located.

If you visit Polar Peak right now, you will just be seeing an awful scene. The good old view of the buildings on top of the ice mountain is destroyed and the trapped monster is also gone. But where did the trapped monster go and when will it return?

We have previously reported that the trapped monster could be an event. During our initial report, we suggest that it was a Fortnite x Godzilla: King of the Monsters crossover since it was almost the same time that the new Godzilla movie is releasing. Unfortunately, it did not happen during the release dates of Godzilla.

While the Fortnite x Godzilla crossover did not happen, we still believe that the trapped monster is somewhat related to a dinosaur species. It is because of the footprint that he left during his escape when update v9.20 arrived.

Fortnite Ice Monster Footprint

The screenshot above shows where the monster’s escape path. The monster moved to the western part of the map, destroying the trees and other objects along its way and leaving a huge footprint that clearly suggests a pre-historic species.

As of writing, the mysterious monster is still nowhere to be found but the latest leak suggests that it went to the water and hide. According to the Fortnite data miner, a new audio file marked as Cattus hints that the monster is swimming on the water.

That being said, it seems like the mysterious monster is just preparing for the right time to return to the island. The leaker also suggests that players should keep an eye on the water areas of the western part of the map as it may be the location for the appearance of the unknown monster that is now roaming around the island.
