Last 2017 in an interview with Bloomberg, Pokemon Co. CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara confirmed that PvP and Trading features are the next big thing that will be coming to Pokemon GO.
Ishihara revealed that the company has already started to work on these features for Pokemon GO and said that these two features are considered as the main key features in all other Pokemon games.
We’ve only accomplished 10 percent of what Pokemon and Niantic are trying to do, so going forward we will have to include fundamental Pokemon experiences such as Pokemon trading and peer-to-peer battles, and other possibilities.
This was the first official confirmation by the company for the future of Pokemon GO. However, after that event, Niantic did not reveal any other details of the upcoming feature.
With the recent events happened in Pokemon GO, Niantic support team just sent an email response to a Pokemon GO player and said that they are also excited about the Trading feature, but did not reveal more additional details.
Quoted from the official Niantic email:
I know that you wish to know of the implementation of the Trading Feature in Pokemon Go. Makes us appreciate your love for Pokemon Go.
We are as excited as you’re about this feature! Also, we would not be able to state the particulars on the implementation of the same.
The email response was posted on Reddit by mrmousepad.
By just simply looking at the email from Niantic, it looks like we’re almost close to getting the Trading feature in Pokemon GO.
Trading feature for Pokemon GO is one of the most requested features of the Pokemon GO fans and in our guess, we will be seeing this feature later this year.
