Red Dead Redemption 2: How To Unlock And Use Fast Travel


Once you start playing Red Dead Redemption 2, you will eventually notice how big the world of Arthur. Moreover, as you progress in the game, missions will be getting further and further from the camp.

Going back and forth from one place to another is very time-consuming. However, if you unlocked the fast travel map feature, you will save much time riding your horse.

There are few ways to fast travel in Red Dead Redemption 2. One can be unlocked by spending some cash, and the other is already available in the game by default.

How To Unlock Fast Travel

In Chapter 2 of the main story, the ledger will give you the option to buy the Dutch’s lodgings. After you get this upgrade, another upgrade will be available.

Just upgrade what is given to you. You will be able to unlock the fast travel map when you reach the “Next in Line” upgrade option. All the upgrades will cost you around $600. Once you unlocked the Fast Travel Map, you can easily travel from your tent to any town that you already discovered.

If you’re having a hard time saving or finding cash, we recommend you to find the hidden Strange Statues puzzle which will reward you a total of 3 gold bars. Another way to get some cash is finding all the Poisonous Trail Maps that will pay you 4 gold bars. Each gold bars will cost $500 when sold at the Fencer.

How To Use Fast Travel

Fast travel in Red Dead Redemption 2 does not work similar to the other games such as Fallout where you can pinpoint exactly where you are going. There are some restrictions for fast traveling on the map in Red Dead Redemption 2.

To use fast travel, you have to be at the camp. All maps that you already discovered is where you can only fast travel. While you can fast travel from your tent to the other places, you can’t fast travel from there back to your camp. Also, you can only use fast travel when your horse is nearby. Otherwise, fast travel will not work.
