Game of Thrones Season 8 Missandei Last Word

Game of Thrones Season 8: What does Dracarys Mean? Missandei Shouted Before Dying

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 is out and one of the most intense scenes in this episode is the horrifying deaths of two important characters. If you haven’t watched it yet, please be reminded that this article contains spoilers.

There are two valuable souls that ended in this episode. First is the death of Rhaegal, the dragon Jon Snow rode in Episode 3, and second is the execution of Missandei, Dany’s loyal advisor, after getting captured by Cersei.

Since this article is about Missandei’s last word, let’s talk about here. Many of the fans are still confused about what she actually said before she dies and to clear things off, here’s what she said when Cersei gave him the opportunity to speak.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Missandei Death

In the execution platform, Missandei shouted “Dracarys”, a high Valyrian word for Dragonfire. Missandei has already seen Daenerys shout this word countless times before the dragon spits fire to the enemies. To her, the word also means freedom as it was used when she was freed from slavery. While the view did not actually pinpoint anyone, Missandei clearly wants to send a message to Dany to burn Cersei and the throne.

Now that two valuable possessions have been gone from the life of Dany, we can clearly see the there will be no negotiations that will happen between her and Cersei. Expect a huge fire and bloodbath in the next episode.
