The Swedish studio Starbreeze has signed an agreement with publisher Koch Media for the release of Payday 3. The game will arrive sometime in 2023 for PC and consoles.
Koch Media will invest 50 million euros in the development and marketing of the cooperative shooter game, in addition to more than 18 months of post-launch content.
According to Tobias Sjogren, this Payday 3 deal is “fully funded” and represents a solid foundation for the launch of the game.
The deal also represents a turning point in Starbreeze’s fortunes: the company nearly closed its doors following the failed release of Overkill’s The Walking Dead in 2019, which was distributed by Starbreeze.
