Pokemon GO To Host Another Special Event On April 10 Featuring Gen 1 Pokemon

Following the announcement of the Pokemon GO Earth Day Cleanup event just a few days ago, Niantic has revealed via email the upcoming new special celebration event in honor of the Kanto region in Pokemon GO.

The newsletter has been sent out to some players around the world, and we are lucky to receive one. Although there is still no official announcement that has been made using their official website and social media accounts, we guarantee that there’s a new event coming on April 10th.

Trainers, starting April 10, we’ll be hosting a special celebration in honor of the Kanto region in Pokémon GO! Keep your eyes on the official Pokémon GO website and social media channels for more information surrounding this event.

Here’s what we think of the content of the newsletter:

  • The email says “in honor of the Kanto region”, suggesting that this event will be all related to Kanto region Pokemon.
  • All the Pokemon from Generation 1 are out, meaning there will be no new Pokemon that will be introduced.
  • As if this moment, Pokemon GO already has an on-going legendary Pokemon raid, so getting a new wave of legendaries is too much. However, there’s a chance that we might be seeing the legendary birds from the Kanto region too (for a limited time).
  • Generation 1 Pokemon models have been updated and it looks like Pokemon GO fans could be getting more shiny Pokemon from the Kanto region.

Expect to see the official announcement from Niantic and Pokemon GO in the following days. Until then, keep in touch with us and get the latest Pokemon GO news and updates!
