That’s why we’re here – to enlighten you why Sayu left her hometown.

Sayu has a very dark past in the manga series. According to the manga, Sayu’s father suggested to her wife to have an abortion upon learning that he was going to have a second child. That child was Sayu. Her mother objected and Sayu was born. Upon Sayu’s birth, her father abandoned her and her wife.

Sayu experienced a lot of bullying at her school and she didn’t have any friends until a girl named Yuzuki arrived. Masako befriended Sayu but she was also bullied because she befriended Sayu.

Unlike Sayu, her friend Yuzuki can’t handle the bullying she experienced and decided to commit suicide. Everyone became after Sayu, who was in the place where her friend took her own life. Even Sayu’s mom suspects her own daughter drove her friend to commit suicide.

Sayu can no longer handle the pressure on her life and decided to run away from her home. Her brother, who first appeared in Episode 7, gave Sayu ¥300,000, which she used for accommodations. Slowly, the money that she received started disappearing and that was the time when Sayu began sleeping with men in exchange for shelter.

The manga is yet to reveal more details about Sayu’s past. But as of the moment, these are the details that we have learned about Sayu before she started leaving with random men in Tokyo.
