Cosas que hacer durante tus primeras horas en Palworld

Esta es una guía básica para empezar bien en Palworld y no pegarse un tiro en el pie..

Empezando

Starting in any survival game is often a headache in trial and error that leads to people googling guides (like this one). To help new players I am making a quick, straight to the point guide for getting through your first hour and establishing a base. Video courtesy of my fiancee Bree who more or less followed this guide.

First Things First

Upon spawning in walk forward and you’ll see a glowing statue, press F on it to activate your first fast travel point (you’ll see many of these along your journey). Look to the right and you’ll see a woman by a fire. Talk to her to receive 10 madera. Press B to open the build menu and build a crafting table. Most of your tools will be build at one of these. Don’t worry about its location you can deconstruct it later. Now go run a lap around the starter platform picking up rocks and wood off of the ground until you get back to where you dropped the table and build a a stone axe and stone pick axe. Go chop some trees with the axe and mine some of the shiny purple/blue stones for paldium. Press TAB to open inventory, switch to technology, and unlock pal spheres and the pal box. Make at least 5 pal spheres. Finally build a torch as it is likely approaching night time and it will keep you from freezing to death.

Resist the temptation to build a base at the starter spot and go off to catch a lamball and cativa. Just run up to and punch these until they are low health and throw a sphere at them (q). Cativa tend to run from you so be prepared to chase and corner them. They’ll stop and try to fight you once damaged (just keep punching and they’ll flinch instead of attacking). You can catch a a few of each for the exp if you want but you will definitely want more cativa down the road as they are useful both in bases and combat. In fact Cativa is still in my combat party at level 25.

While doing all of this loot berries off of the red bushes and right click them in your inventory to refill your food meter if it gets low. Alternatively go punch a chicken or two to death for eggs.

Finally build a palbox to make your first base. CHOOSE THE LOCATION WISELY! I made the mistake of building mine on the raised platform you start on and had space issues. If you jump down from the starter area and again from the bridge you’ll reach an open field that is a great starter base area. It takes forever to unlock the ability to build more bases (base level 10/20 etc.) so you’ll be using this one a lot.

Building Your First Base

After choosing the location for your first Palbox (hopefully a wide open area like I suggested in the intro) you’ll need to start building it. I recommend throwing the cativa you caught into your base as the first worker as it will automatically mine rocks for you and can also do handiwork. From here on your goal is to reach base level 4 o 5 to get yourself a work force.

Before you start building your base take a look around and plan ahead. You want all of the resource gathering areas (mining pit, lumber yard, crusher, etc.) to be together with some wooden boxes near them. The pet beds should be bundled together somewhere out of the way as well. Your own sleeping house should be far away from everything as pals tend to get stuck on it. Build a campfire somewhere in your base and cook something on it for hunger helping. Finalmente, build a wooden chest near some trees (but within your base limits) and go mow down trees with your axe until it breaks. Build a repair bench and a workbench near your palbox (it helps to keeps these types of things together) to keep your tools going and go gather more wood and stone, dumping it into your wooden chest (they stack infinitely and you can pull resources directly from any chests in your base when crafting). If you’ve placed a Cativa in your base as recommended it will automatically mine boulders around your base and generate tons of stone, saving you the time and tools. Finally build your house with the wooden structure set. recomiendo 2 cimientos, 3 walls and a roof over one side as you need a roof to sleep. Build a bed in the roofed half of your house and now you can use it to sleep through the nights!

For your stat enhancements on level up I recommend getting weight to 450 or so and workspeed to 200 quick. After that it depends on preference but I find weight and stamina to be huge with about 3 health upgrades spread over your first 15 niveles. Attack isn’t very important early as your pals will kill things for you.

Level Up Your Base and Become Self Sufficient

Now you want to level up your base, giving you access to more pals to work in it and at 10 a second base location. Do this by pressing V while facing the Palbox and fulfilling the building requirements (they are very straightforward though most need to be unlocked via the technology menu (build base buildings by pressing B and selecting what you want)). Do this until you’ve built a berry plantation and have at least a level 5 base.

Now comes the first little trick you learn while playing (unless you’re reading a guide). Construir 10 or so pal spheres and travel north of your base until you reach «Grassy behemoth Hill». You’ll see a fast travel marker near the water here so go unlock it and then look around the fast travel marker and then farther north near the ruins. You are looking for two different pals that spawn here Pengullet (looks like a penguin) and a green acorn/slime looking guy with a leaf on its head. You want to catch at least one of each. If none are here take the fast travel back to your base and then fast travel back here (prensa «C» while facing palbox). This resets the spawns. After you’ve caught one of each return to your base and put them to work. The green goo will plant your berry plantation and the penguine will water it and gather after (many pals, including the chickens and sheep, have gathering as well). They will automatically deliver these berries to your feeding box creating an infinite loop of food production and hunger sating. It won’t be long until you have thousands of red berries in this box in case you need food. Pengullet also has the handiwork skill so when he isn’t watering the berries he will craft anything in your bench queues like palspheres and weapons. Make a habit of leaving some queued up.

Finally catch another lamball and chicken and put them in a ranch to produce a steady supply of wool and eggs. Place a wooden box near the ranch and one of your transporting pals will throw these in it. Building a set of cloth armor at this point is all but mandatory if you haven’t already. Another special trick is to catch a Vixy (fluffy fox (not camise that is a different pal)). Vixy requires you to travel a good ways north to find and this can be risky but the reward is VERY worth it. If you place a vixy in a base with a ranch it will randomly dig up items. These can include pal spheres and gold among other things. Two vixies in a ranch for a few hours of gameplay will generate tens if not hundreds of palspheres and gold for merchant trading.

Catching a foxsparks (fire fox) is also very important once you’ve finished the above sections for working the furnace and cooking things for you.

Remember that if you use pals with a wide variety of skills they will generally do some combination of those skills spread out over time so if you want a specific task done you wither need to order them to do it or get a pal that only has that skill. An example being Nitewing who only transports.

Important Pals To Catch Early On
In order you’re likely to find them:
Cativa (mining/handiwork)
Pengulet (watering/handiwork)
Foxsparks (kindling (cooks food and works furnace))
Acorn/goo dude (planting) (should be replaced with lifmunk as soon as possible)
Lifmunk (lumber,planting)
Tanzee (lumber,planting)
Eirkdeer (lv 2 lumber)

Character Building and Combat Team

There are several important items you’ll need to make and equip to start fighting seriously. In order of importance they are: Melee weapon (the basic club will hold you for a long time, especially if you prefer archery and pal combat), Armadura (cloth armor should be made ASAP, sólo se necesita 2 cloth (4 wool)), Ranged weapon (bow is fine but work towards the 3 shot bow and crossbow), Planeador (parachute only needs a bit of cloth), blindaje (it isn’t a handheld shield but a sci-fi style energy shield that recharges over times), and hat (the hairpin gives decent defense). None of these are expensive to make and all of them are super useful.

Fantastical Creatures and Where To Find Them

Building a solid team of pals to handle combat for you is essential in palworld and not all pals are create equal. The chicken and Lamball pals are virtually useless in combat and should be avoided. Cativa however is extremely powerful in the early game and should be used frequently. Cativa has the added bonus of increasing your carry weight when in your party and this effect stacks. Once you’ve got a bow I strongly recommend catching a nitewing. these can be found soaring high above the Grassy Behemoth Hill area and are quite dangerous in the early game but easy enough to survive. Dodge their slow moving tornado attack and then dodge again as they follow it up with a very high damage charge that may kill you in one or two hits. Have your cativa fight it and move behind to throw spheres when its health gets low. The Nitewing is immensely powerful in combat and will help you until you start catching bosses. Foxsparks and Pengullet are great for increasing elemental coverage.

Some notable pal equipment bonuses are:
Nitewing: allows you to fly on its back
Foxspark: Turns pal into a flame thrower, great aoe damage at close range
Lifmunk: It sits on your head and sprays enemies with a submachine gun
Celeray: acts as an improved version of parachute/glider

Remember that you can catch most bosses.

This is How You Victory
How to win in combat:

As a wise Namekian once said: DOOOOOOOODDDDDDGGGGGGEEEE!

VS Boss: Shoot them from a distance with bow/crossbow while sending your pals in to blow them up. When a pal’s health gets low send a different one in. By the time you’ve cycled through your pets the first pet will have recovered a good deal of its health. Be wary of any boss that charges into melee range as they are about to do an AOE explosion that is often instant so you have to dodge BEFORE they use it. Wait until they get close. Once the boss drops below 10/20% health recall your pal so they don’t finish and and start lugging balls. If you time it right you can throw another ball right as they break free and interupt any attacks they were going to use.

VS Small pal: Don’t summon your own pals if you intend to catch it. The bow/spear/three shot bow work well for weakening and the cross bow will kill most in one hit. If you just want to kill them your own pets will likely kill them in one or two hits.

VS large Pals: Have your pals weaken it while you stay back and watch its health. When it gets low recall your pal and either start trying to catch or weaken it further with a bow or spear.

Early Game Bosses
While you’re unlikely to face any bosses in your first hour here are a few tips for finding them and when to take them on:

Chillet
Found near tower ruins. nivel 11. Easy kill wiith a nitewing or cativa.

Kingpaca
Found to the west of Rayne Tower. Level 20ish. As long as you dodge his highly predictable attacks he is very easy at around 19. Nitewing and cativa are enough.

Zoé
First major boss of the game and infamously pretty redhead riding a supersize electabuzz ripoff. Should be at least level 15 but recommend 20 más o menos. You’re going to need your full party for this one and take advantage of the terrain hiding behind the pillars to avoid her long range attacks and fleeing immediately upon her entering melee range. YOU CANNOT CAPTURE HER!

Katessa
Found in the glowing elden ring style circle in the chain of islands north of starter area. Be level 20+ and bring a solid team. This witch/cat thing likes to shoot easily dodged bolts of shadow and also run up to you to unleash a shockwave. She hits very hard and keeps that power when captured.

Grimtail
Giant cat located near the marsh area north of Katessa. ser 20+ and bring a nitewing and katessa. Its most dangerous attack is its pounce which is easily dogded (same as Kingpaca’s version).
