This guide may help you defeat the Gorgon Skull boss in Chapter 4. I had a hard time fighting it, and figuring out the strategy made me want to share what I know.
Preparazione
Before entering the boss area, you’ll find yourself in a section full of weapons. You have the following options:
- Mitragliatrici (MGs)
- Submachine Guns (SMG)
- Fucili
- Rocket Launchers
Choose according to your playstyle. Tuttavia, the cheesiest method is to go for rockets or snipers (they’re not in this section, but you can find them from enemy drops before entering here).
Just before you start the fight, you’ll see 6 power-ups, arranged in 3 rows of 2.
From the front, you will have Aim Buff, Armatura, and Damage Buff. Plan when to pick them up accordingly.
The Fight
This boss has 2 phases:
- The first phase where it shoots
- The second phase where it summons enemies
First Phase
The first phase consists of the boss shooting a variety of projectiles that are very hard to dodge at close range.
The best thing to do is wait for an opening (per esempio., when it’s shooting the big projectiles that are few, or the laser beam) and go in to deal damage. But if you insist on fighting at close range, be sure to use your shield and dash a lot.
Second Phase
Nella seconda fase, the boss will use its camouflage and become invulnerable to damage. It will summon waves of mobs for you to fight, which is pretty straightforward.
After clearing the waves, the boss will deactivate its camouflage, and you can damage it again. This pattern repeats for every quarter of health the boss loses. Just rinse and repeat.
