História

The year is 21XX. Everything seems peaceful until the serenity of the atmosphere is broken by a mysterious alien force, known as thePurple Erosion”. They have taken over the Moon, and with their new lunar base settled directly in the center of the large space rock, they begin to unleash attacks on the Earth to prepare for their invasion! To fight off the attack, you must halt their invasion and save the Earth. Their plan won’t be stopped then, no entanto; afterwards, you must reclaim the Moon to destroy the alien menace once and for all! Tome cuidado, because they won’t be going down without an explosive fight.

O básico

ESCHATOS is a shoot-em-up game developed and published by Qute, designed to be a spiritual successor of sorts to the two games Judgement Silversword and Cardinal Sins. It’s a vertically scrolling shooter in which you’re met with constant waves of enemies or obstacles you must avoid. agradecidamente, you have your trusty advanced space fighter ship! Using it effectively is key to shoot down any opponents and avoid any attacks coming your way. Said advanced fighter ship is equipped with three tools you can use at your disposal: The Front Shot, the Wide Shot, and the Shield. Use these weapons effectively to wipe out enemies that appear, and get ready to take back the Moon!

Points are something that you will collect as you play through the game. You’ll get some when you destroy or damage enemies, and you’ll get more points the quicker and more you kill! Earning enough points can cause an Option Level Up, which will increase your Option Level. This allows more customization! Not all of these configurations will save your scores, no entanto.

Modes

ESCHATOS comes full of several different ways to play the game. This includes Original, Avançado, and Time Attack. Original plays like a normal shoot-em-up game with nothing particularly unique or complex. Advanced is the same as Original, but it’s a lot more complex with additional things such as Bonus Bits or the Power Up item. Time Attack is the same as Original, except you must play through it as fast as possible. Every time you get past an Area, you are given additional time to play the game. You have unlimited lives, but dying will remove five seconds from your remaining time. Se você ficar sem tempo, sua corrida acabou!

Not only are there separate modes, but there are different difficulties too. There’s Easy, Normal, Duro, and the unlockable Hardest. The higher the difficulty is, the more bullets and complex projectile patterns appear. It gets to the point that even basic rockets shoot bullets at you! Adicionalmente, there’s an Endless mode that brings players through the entire game repeatedly. Each go around, the difficulty increases, por isso tem cuidado!

armas

Visão geral: The Front Shot is incredibly powerful and is likely the main weapon you will be using in-game. It packs a serious punchso serious it’s capable of destroying large enemies in secondsand is incredibly easy to use. Infelizmente, no entanto, it does not have a large firing angle. It limits you to shooting what is only in front of you and won’t allow wiping out enemies to your sides.

Dano: ★★★★★ (This thing does incredible amounts of damage!)

Faixa: ★★★★★ (This thing has an incredible amount of range!)

Versatility: ★★★★ (This thing is very versatile.)

Firing Angle: ★★ (This thing does not have a very wide firing angle.)

Complexidade: ★ (This thing is very simple.)

Geral: ★★★★ (This thing is going to be your main tool for a lot of your mission!)

Are you using the Front Shot but find yourself unable to attack foes on your sides? That’s where the Wide Shot comes in! The Wide Shot can wipe out several enemies next to you and is great at handling large clusters. Weaker enemies generally fall to this really quickly! It only shoots to your sides and has a very limited range, Contudo, so finding the right situations to use it in is important.

Dano: ★★★ (This thing does a considerable amount of damage.)

Faixa: ★★ (This thing has less than preferable range.)

Versatility: ★★★ (This thing is somewhat versatile.)

Firing Angle: ★★★★ (This thing has a pretty wide firing angle.)

Complexidade: ★★ (This thing is fairly simple.)

Geral: ★★★ (This thing won’t see much use in your mission, but it’s still very important and comes in handy!)

The Shield does as the name suggests: It will protect you from enemy attacks and can even destroy weaker enemies if they fly into it! It comes in the form of a mysterious, yet powerful blue energy orb in front of you that can be activated by trying to shoot both the Wide Shot and the Front Shot at the same time (you can also press the normal Shield button). It can absorb projectiles and do unique other things (check out the Bonus Bits section in Items or read the A Master’s Techniques section), but it constantly drains a bar in the bottom left (a number also appears next to your ship to show you the bar’s capacity). That bar starts at one-hundred, but as you use it, you’ll find this bar decreases rather rapidly. It doesn’t help that every time you pull out the Shield, the energy decreases by five immediately. The Shield will turn red if the bar reaches twenty-five or lower, and once it reaches zero, you will no longer be able to use the Shield until it recharges again. Use it wisely!

Dano: ★★ (This thing does less than preferable damage.)

Faixa: ★ (This thing has pretty terrible range.)

Versatility: ★★★★★ (This thing is incredibly versatile!)

Firing Angle: N / D (This doesn’t fire anythingkind of.)

Complexidade: ★★★★ (This thing is actually very complex!)

Geral: ★★★★ (This thing is going to get you out of a lot of sticky situations in your mission!)

Itens

Items are going to be one of the most useful things you can find on your journey. Some items are dropped by the Item Carrier, a small yet passive machine that won’t damage you unless you fly into it. Shooting the Item Carrier will net an item, but not all items are obtained this way! There’s a small assortment of items that I’ve listed below (if I forgot an item or I’m missing details for it, avise! I’ll include missing information and give you credit).

1UP

A very useful item that sometimes can be appear if you’re performing well enough. Collecting these will grant an additional life! In Time Attack mode, this item will instead grant an additional fifteen seconds.

FLASH

A handy item dropped by Item Carriers. This item will clear any enemy bullets on screen and damage some enemies, potentially even destroying weaker ones. This will also stop new enemy bullets from being made for a moment.

In Advanced Mode, these items work the same, but also decrease your ship’s Power Level by one. Grab these only if it’s necessary!

GOLD FLASH

A useful item found in Advanced Mode only, these Gold Flashes work the same as a regular flash, the key difference being that it turns cleared enemy bullets into Bonus Bits! Useful, huh?

POWER UP

A powerful item found in Advanced Mode only, Power Ups increases your ship’s Power Level by one. This means your attacks will be stronger! Keep in mind that the higher your Power Level, the less Shield you have!

BONUS BIT (seen circling around the player’s ship)

An Advanced Mode only purple triangle item that grants some additional points. The bigger they are, the more points they give! These can be found when Gold Flashes wipe out enemy projectiles, but they can also be found when the Shield absorbs enemy projectiles. They will begin to appear and spin around your ship; absorbing lots of projectiles means lots of Bonus Bits! Further more, as they orbit around you, they can do damage to nearby enemies, allowing for lots of damage! That’s not all, qualquer; the higher your ship’s Power Level is, the more bits appear! This allows for even more damage and points despite your low Shield Meter. What a wonderful item!

WITCH

A mysterious item. It seems to appear very rarely and gives you some extra score if you collect it, but it will try to avoid you! It seems to consistently spawn in Area 9 on Easy for me, but I’ve seen a playthrough of the game get it on Area 13 em Normal. That’s all the information I’ve got on this.

Áreas

ESCHATOS takes place over what are calledareas”. These are basically short, concise levels that you progress through. The farther you go, the more difficult the areas will get, so stay vigilant and alert!

The game is divided into what I like to imagine as separate chunks of areas. A full list is down below:

AREA 1-4 (THE CITY)

AREA 5 (GIANT MOTHERSHIP(1st Boss))

AREA 6-11 (THE TEMPLE AND ATMOSPHERE)

AREA 12-14 (TRANSPORT SHIP’S DEFENSES (I consider this part of the boss of Area 15.))

AREA 15 (TRANSPORT SHIP(2nd Boss))

AREA 16-19 (DEPTHS OF SPACE)

AREA 20 (GIANT MOTHERSHIP(3rd Boss) (Sim, you refight this but it’s upgraded))

AREA 21-23 (MOON’S SURFACE)

AREA 24-25 (THE CATACOMBS)

AREA 26 (MYSTERIOUS ORGANISM(Chefe final))

A Master’s Techniques

Here’s some things to keep in mind if you think you’re ready to become one of the greatest. All of these are important to consider if you really want to get the highest scores possible!

  • Don’t forget you can use the Shield to create Bonus Bits in Advanced Mode. You can also use them as an attack to defend yourself from weaker enemies while absorbing projectiles from big, stronger enemies. This will allow plenty of points, especially if you have a higher Power Level. The higher your Power Level, the more Bonus Bits you’ll get this way.
  • Don’t forget you can change your speed! This is almost never important, but it can be vital for those who want to ensure quick death for every single enemy in the game.
  • When dealing with clusters of weak enemies, the Wide Shot is obviously the better choice. No entanto, when dealing with clusters of strong enemies, the Front Shot might actually be the best choice.
  • If you can get away with shooting a boss without any harm, Vá em frente! The first boss is perfect for this; although enemies are constantly flying at you, it’s not a bad idea to risk damaging the boss more for a faster kill.
  • Check out the online leaderboards and download a few replays to learn more strategies! Analyze the replays extensively and be sure to get every detail down.
