To get the free cosmetics that are included in the compensation, players only need to log in to their Overwatch account starting on October 25, 2022, until December 6, 2022. One of the highlight-worthy items for this giveaway is the Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary Skin.

Blizzard stated on their blog that they are apologizing for the issues that happened during the Overwatch 2 launch:
We apologize for any issues players experienced around the game’lanzamiento. To help make up for any lost time, nosotros’re planning to run several Double Match XP weekends: we will confirm the specific dates for these soon. Nosotros’ll also be giving all players who log in from October 25 through to the end of Season One an all-new Cursed Captain Reaper Legendary skin and a Health Pack Weapon Charm. These items will become part of your collection from the first time you log in during that time window.
Note that this is a limited-time reward. If you fail to get these free rewards by the slated end date, you will no longer be able to get them in the future.
