A guide to getting all of the achievements for Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree

This guide is mostly intended to help getting any missing achievements after an initial playthrough, as well as clearing up some ambiguity in some of the achievement descriptions. 이와 같이, achievements are organized by type, rather than in a chronology.

I would strongly recommend doing at least one blind playthrough before using a guide for this game.

Story Choice/Miscellaneous Achievements

Magpie

가지다 1250 coins at once

• Find coins by opening chests and sometimes by solving puzzles from other characters, such as Ikol and Eiryn. Watch for paths leading off-screen. Explore everywhere.
• Do not purchase anything from Dallr until you get this achievement. You will see him four times and he always has the same stock. You can backtrack to purchase items up until you sleep in Vingólf right before the end of the game

• Remember to enter every building you can to check for books and watch for side paths to check for more story nodes

Spare the Dying

Choose not to kill Sven after fighting him

A Father’s Keepsake

Remind Sven of his loss

• Before battling Sven, visit the cemetery to the right of Eiryn’s house outside Borj and examine the blue gravestone

• After battling Sven, choose to Remind him of his loss

Thunder

Find a piece of Odin’s Spear

• Activate lower key totem to open room (both marked with dark green squares)
• Locate Odin’s spear piece in the Náströnd maze (past dark green lock labeled on map)
  

A Child in Need

Save Forsetti

• Before leaving Heldi’s house the first time, interact with the drawing on the table and the trapdoor.
• In the temple, choose to investigate rather than fight
• Return to Heldi’s house and enter the trapdoor to find Forsetti
• Choose to defend the girl

Svalinn

Speak to Buldr and Forsetti again after battling Heldi

Lost Property

Unlocked when you receive the knife from Bjorn, not when you return it.

• Solve all 3 of Eiryn’s jumble puzzles
  • Inside house outside Borj (unmissable)
    
  • See ‘Jumbled Divide’
  • See ‘Jumbled Freedom’
• Follow the trail of blood from the dead bear on the mountain to find Bjorn and get the knife from him.

Answer all of Veldin’s questions

Veldin will not ask you the question until you interact with the corresponding runestone.

1st runestone: By signpost in area before Eiryn’s house outside Borj

• See ‘A Child in Need’
• Have Yri injured before reaching Vingólf. Either spare the Ice King or accept the Epli offered from Dallr/Loki
  • Do not do both! Yri will die!
• Speak to Buldr and Forsetti after entering Vingólf

The Alchemist

This achievement doesn’t trigger until you actually mix the mead in the basement in Vingólf.

Ingredients:

• Mayweed: See ‘A Father’s Keepsake’
• Elder Sap: Purchase from Dallr
• 제이örm’s Venom: Fight Jörm three times
  • See ‘A Snake in the Grass’, ‘Throwing a Hissy Fit’, and ‘Good Riddanccce’
• Dark Blood: Solve puzzle in Náströnd
  • Must have 3 chaos points (적어도 2 fights)
  • Solve puzzle in lower right of Náströnd cave before Viktor, then collect blood from end of track

엔딩 업적

There are a total of four possible endings in this game. 내가 말할 수있는 한, there are ultimately two factors that determine which ending you get: what you choose for the Tharox after the Ice King battle and whether or not Yri makes it to the end. 나’ve included screenshots of my decision trees for each of the four endings for reference.

In order to unlock the choice for the Tharox, you must choose to learn more about your opponent when you first encounter Red Hand immediately after fighting Skullhorn.

There are many ways to affect Yri throughout the game. He will be injured if you choose to spare the Ice King, and if you accept the Epli from Loki disguised as Dallr. If you accept the Epli after sparing the Ice King, Yri will die. If you saved Forsetti, she and Buldr will meet you in Vingólf and they will heal Yri if he is injured. If Yri is injured when you meet Odin at the Bifrost, Odin will offer to take Yri with him. This counts as losing him as far as which ending you get. If Yri is injured when you approach the Elder Tree, he will succumb to his injury before the final battle.

Heroes Never Die

• Choose Revolution for the Tharox
• Have Yri healthy when approaching the Elder Tree at the end

Last Woman Standing

• Choose Revolution for the Tharox
• Lose Yri before the final battle

The End of the Line

• Choose Tradition for the Tharox
• Have Yri healthy when approaching the Elder Tree at the end

Ragnarök

• Choose Tradition for the Tharox
• Lose Yri before the final battle

Arena Achievements

I’ve listed the arena achievements below for completeness, but there is very little advice I can give here other than just to practice.

Miscellaneous Notes/Tips

Just a few things that don’t relate to any achievements, but I thought might be useful to mention.

• Magic Mushrooms from Dallr:
  • 파란색: Protection point
  • 보라: hint images for obtaining mead ingredients
  • 노란색: hint images for obtaining artifacts
• If you return to Heldi after fighting Buldr, she will give you an Epli
• If you found all three rats in the Náströnd maze, there will be an Epli in the mailbox outside Heldi’s house
