Graceward Complete Edition Achievement Walkthrough Guide

This guide will be showing you the steps on how to get all Graceward achievements.

Story

How a Woman Falls

Regain consciousness.

This achievement is unlocked when gameplay begins on the first level. It cannot be missed.

Good Sick

Escape the city.

This achievement is unlocked halfway though chapter 1 when landing on the wasteland shore. It cannot be missed.

The Truth

Collect all the tapes.

This achievement is unlocked at the start of chapter 6 once you recover the sixth tape. It cannot be missed.

Age

Survive until winter.

This achievement is unlocked immediately at the start of chapter 7. It cannot be missed.

Signal

Send it.

This achievement is unlocked by starting the path towards the A Ending. In order to do this in chapter 7 when homunculus enters the church you MUST agree to his proposition that you travel to the Daunten Kingdom. Once you finish the kingdom level and return, in chapter 8 there will be a meeting in the church and you will have the option unlocked to travel to Daunten Temple and send the tapes. When you select this option, and enter the final level, the achievement will unlock.

Celebration

Find it.

This achievement is unlocked by starting the path towards the B Ending. In order to do this in chapter 8 there will be a meeting in the church, you simply need to choose to stay put in there. The achievement will unlock when you enter the final scene in church at night.

Church

City Piece

Fully Upgrade One Weapon.

This achievement is unlocked by purchasing any fourth tier upgrade on any weapon, thereby ‘fully upgrading it’. The simplest and cheapest way to do this with the pistol.

Wasteland Arsenal

Fully Upgrade Three Weapons.

This achievement is unlocked by purchasing a fourth tier upgrade for any three weapons. Again the simplest and cheapest way to do this by upgrading the first three guns (pistol, shotgun, UV revolver.)

Thunder of Heavens Fully Upgrade All Weapons.

This achievement can a bit tricky, and requires a little bit of planning. In order to unlock this you must purchase a fourth tier upgrade for all eight weapons. In order to get enough money in a play-through to do this you’ll need to budget wisely. Here some tips to help you scrape together enough discard:

1. Firstly avoid church upgrades until you have the weapon upgrades out of the way.

2. Make sure you kill every enemy, on every level, as kills are the fastest way of collecting discard.

3. To get more kills beyond the levels be sure to run through the fights in the ‘Neutral Zone’ and and take on the ‘?’ random encounters.

4. When purchasing the fourth tier upgrades, consider that some are far more costly than others, and try to purchase only the cheapest ones, especially for big ticket guns like the Hell Rifle and the Glass Cannon.

With some budgeting of your discard, this achievement shouldn’t be too much trouble. As an additional tip, and spoiler for chapter 7: Accepting the mission to travel to the Daunten Kingdom is highly recommended as the enemies there are worth a great deal of discard, and can help you finish off the upgrades before the final chapter.

Your Bounty

Accumulate 10,000 Discard.

This achievement is unlocked for collecting 10,000 discard. Discard to mostly collected from killed enemies, and is added automatically. You’re very likely to get this quantity through natural play in the game- HOWEVER, bear in mind that the 10,000 figure must be held all at once! The total is not cumulative.

Overflow

Maximise a relationship.

This achievement is unlocked by filling up the relationship bar with one of the five main companions (Abigail, El’ Azar, Jack, Kitty, Marcus.) The easiest way to earn relationship points is to take the desired companion(s) with you on missions, and by wandering around the church occasionally to find cut-scenes with them. Your relationship level can be found anytime by opening the journal.

Tides

Spend winter with someone.

This achievement is automatically unlocked at the start of chapter 7 but only if you have maximised a relationship with a companion prior to it starting.

Folk

Dead Branches

Exterminate the last of the Cull bloodline.

At the end of chapter 2, once you’ve defeated Pamwell’s ghost in Cull manor, you will meet her son, Brandon. To earn this achievement, you simply need to choose to kill him, and then unload at him, and the achievement is yours.

Wasteland Scars

Befriend the last of the Cull bloodline.

At the end of chapter 2, once you’ve defeated Pamwell’s ghost in Cull manor, you will meet her son, Brandon. To earn this achievement, you will need to peacefully resolve the encounter. The secret to doing this, is by telling Brandon only the truth.

Tell him that you’re interested in the past, and that what you’re looking for isn’t there anymore, and he will relent, telling you what he knows.

Divine Intervention

Kill the head of the Jacobious Church,

In chapter 3 when raiding the feral church, you will meet the head priest James. To unlock this achievement, you merely need to choose to kill him and then defeat him and his men in the ensuing fight. If you struggle with this battle, try a couple of well-placed grenades from the grenade launcher.

Deus Ex Machina

Make peace with the head of the Jacobious Church

In chapter 3 when raiding the feral church, you will meet the head priest James. To unlock this achievement, you need to peacefully resolve things, and convince him to give Cybele back without further bloodshed.

The secret to persuading James is that he is more practical-minded than he first appears. If you explain to him that he cannot win a war on two-fronts, and that he needs to focus on winning the battles he’s already in, he will acquiesce and let Cybele go.

To Hell with the Demons

Leave the porcelain homonculous for dead.

In chapter 3 when at the navy base, you will meet homonculus again. To earn this achievement, when you speak after hiding from the feds together, tell him to piss-off, and that you won’t accept a ride out with him.

Fear Inoculum

Make peace with the porcelain homonculus.

In chapter 3 when at the navy base, you will meet homonculus again. To earn this achievement, when you speak after hiding from the feds together, agree to flee with him.

Burning Bridges

End dealings with Debra Dour on a sour note.

At the end of chapter 4 when speaking with Debra Dour in the Firing Broad club, be as rude as possible during the conversation, and at the end, agree to stay at the motel down the street instead of at the club.

Old Bird

End dealing with Debra Dour amicably.

At the end of chapter 4 when speaking with Debra Dour in the Firing Broad club, be as kind as possible during the conversation, and at the end, agree to spend the night there at the club.

Figurehead

Slay the Federal Captain in cold blood.

The first opportunity to do this in chapter 5 at Diso Ultra. When you meet the federal captain in the resort pool, fight her, and then choose to execute her by drowning her in the water.

Sisterhood

Form an unlikely alliance with the Federal Captain.

To unlock this achievement you must first spare the captain at Diso Ultra in chapter 5. After the fight in the pool, choose to leave her alive. Then at Mary’s Manor, you will meet her again. Here you must persuade her to defect. To do this, tell her about the truth of Hellbringer and the tapes, and she will let you go.

7th Rank

Raid the Glass Tower with many friends.

This is most conditional achievement in the game. In order to get this you must have made peace with all possible NPCs along the way:

1. Chapter 2, Spare Brandon Cull in Cull Manor.
2. Chapter 3, Make peace with James at the Feral Church.
3. Chapter 3, Agree to flee with Homonculus at the Navy Base.
4. Chapter 4, Stay with Debra Dour at the Firing Broad.
5. Chapter 5, Spare the Federal Captain at Diso Ultra, then tell her about the tapes at Mary’s Manor.

Then at the start of chapter 6 when planning the Glass Tower raid, you will have the option to ask all of these NPCs for assistance. After recruiting all five to the mission, the achievement is yours.

En Passant

Raid the Glass Tower on your own.

This achievement can be earned near the start of chapter 6, when planning to raid the glass tower, simply choose to go at it as is, without any help.

Your Turn to Walk Away

Leave Ket to die.

Once you’ve defeated Ket at the end of chapter 6, he will ask you to walk away and leave him to bleed out. Do as he says and walk away, and this achievement will unlock.

Break the Rules

Finish off Ket.

Once you’ve defeated Ket at the end of chapter 6, he will ask you to walk away and leave him to bleed out. Do the opposite of this, and kill him outright, and this achievement will unlock.

Astronomy

Move on from an old relationship.

At the very end of chapter 6, Renee ends up in a conversation with Mary at the top the Glass Tower. Here, you just need to progress the conversation without choosing to kill him, and he will give you the tape and the achievement is yours.

Gore

End an old relationship.

At the very end of chapter 6, Renee ends up in a conversation with Mary at the top the Glass Tower. Here, you merely need to choose the option to kill Mary, and this achievement is yours.

Kingdom

Follow in the footsteps of giants.

To unlock this achievement you must agree to take the side of the Daunten King. To do this, first in chapter 7 when homonculus visits the church, agree to travel to the Daunten Kingdom for him. Once there find the King down in the dungeon and carry him to his throne so that you can speak with him. Then progress through the conversation until you he asks what you plan to do with the tapes. Tell him that you plan to send the tapes, and then walk away.

Vivisection

Slay the infallible.

To unlock this achievement you must kill the Daunten King. To do this, first in chapter 7 when homonculus visits the church, agree to travel to the Daunten Kingdom for him. Once there find the King down in the dungeon and carry him to his throne so that you can speak with him. Then progress through the conversation until you have the option to kill him. Then shoot him in the head.

Misc.

Full Bleed

Admire fifty pieces of art.

This achievement is unlocked by examining (Right Click, when your weapon is put away) fifty pieces of art. Art in this case includes paintings, photos, sculptures, and murals. There are way more than fifty in the game so you’re likely to get this just by normally looking around. However if you’re feeling particularly cheesy, and you really want this achievement as fast as humanly possible:
No one said you can’t examine the ‘same’ art fifty times…

Paths

Participate in an encounter.

This achievement is unlocked by participating in an encounter. Encounters the ‘?’ symbols on that appear on the map more of these become available as you progress through the story. To participate in one, you only need to click on it, and survive to the end of whatever happens next.

Paths Again

Participate in 15 encounters.

This achievement is unlocked by participating in 15 encounters. Encounters the ‘?’ symbols on that appear on the map more of these become available as you progress through the story. To participate in one, you only need to click on it, and survive to the end of whatever happens next.

In Path, Day and Night

Participate in 30 encounters.

This achievement is unlocked by participating in all 30 encounters. Encounters the ‘?’ symbols on that appear on the map more of these become available as you progress through the story. To participate in one, you only need to click on it, and survive to the end of whatever happens next.

Arsenic on the Rocks

Kill a thousand men.

This achievement is unlocked by killing 1000 enemies of any kind, humans, machines, ghosts or otherwise. You’re very likely to get this through natural play in the story, however if you’re in need of extra kills the ‘Neutral Zone’ area on the map is a good place to quickly get more.

Head like a Bucket

Find Buckethead.

This achievement is unlocked by finding ‘Buckethead’, a mysterious mannequin wearing a bucket on his head. Buckethead can be found somewhere in Diso Ultra in chapter 5, or more specifically:
On the second floor of Diso Ultra, in the second hallway, the left-most guest room door will be locked. Examine it three times…
