Wie man in The Matchless Kungfu eine erfolgreiche Sekte gründet

A comprehensive English guide on how to create, verwalten, and successfully run your very own Sect. Contents may be subject to change as updates to the game happen. All images and GIFs are compressed for limited bandwidth usage.

Before you do Anything

While I’ll try to be as thorough as possible, you may want to heavily consider first being a part of an existing Sect first, which you’re usually introduced toas a choice of a new Tileafter your first bandit encounter.

It’s almost essential to be a Disciple first if you want to power up and learn different Skills and Inner Kungfu, otherwise you won’t have anything to teach to your own Disciples. While you can run a Sect without having a training school, if you want them to assist you in combat it’s a worthwhile endeavour.

Am wichtigsten, you won’t get very far if you haven’t taken some time to make companions or train your non-combat Abilities, because of..

Voraussetzungen (Abilities and where to find them)

Learning Abilities

Not quite sure how the system works? Can’t even open the Build (H) Tab? Here’s how you learn most Abilitiescrafting/item-related knowledge – im Spiel!

NPCs in the game all have different sets of knowledge, and if you’ve got some Affinity with them (doing quests/giving gifts/complimenting them/talking about things they’re interested in), they may be willing to teach you some.

This lines up with their job: it’s hard to find a random person with Leechcraft, but someone who works at a Clinic always has it.

Erinnern: Request > Learn is to erhalten knowledge, and Assist > Teach is to geben!

Finally Getting Started

For a fee of 5,000 Münzen, you can finally place down your Party Flag. Flags claim the entire Lot (map tile) that you’re currently standing on.

A few Roamers should offer to join you within moments of placing the Flag, but it’s preferable that you’ve made a few friends to come along, or even established yourself inside a 4-tile City Lot for the easiest transition into Sect life.

The most important building to a Sect is the Lager. Without one, your Disciples have nowhere to deliver their taxes (resources and coin) zu! Aber, it’s one of the more complicated Buildings to unlock, as it has many different skill requirements.

Du brauchst (aside from some coin to unlock crafting recipes to train):

  • Aufhänger – Weave: Expert (use a Clothing Store’s Loom and make cheap clothes)
  • Weapon Shelf – Schmiede: Expert (use a Smithy’s Furnace and make wood concealed weapons)
  • Potion ShelfLeechcraft: Expert (use a Clinic’s crucible and make some Astringent)
  • Contraption Shelf – Basteln: Expert (naturally obtained through crafting items in the B menu
  • Wine ShelfWine Art: Expert (visit a tavern, sit at a bar, and use the Drink: Luxury Wine option to level up. Just be careful of blacking out!)

Not sure what you’re Missing?

There’s currently a UI error when using the Build tab. If you can’t place a building, hover and re-hover your mouse over the building a few times until theCrafting Lockedtooltip appears, it’ll tell you what knowledge you’re missing to build that structure.

Zum Beispiel, I can’t build a Fabric Shop because it requires the Loom. Cross-referencing with the Produce (Boot) tab in my bag, I need to train my Weaving skill to Veteran to get this unlocked.

Establishments (Gebäude)

Part of the beauty of Matchless Kungfu is the ability to hand-craft your own houses and no real (current) system of maintaining happiness through good housing. You can make a ghetto of bamboo and straw shelters and your Disciples will be plenty happy with that.

While the Warehouse is most important for getting resources, you’ll want to start branching out pretty quickly. Falls Sie keins haben, building a Clinic, some Shops, and a Jail should be on your early bucket list.

You can assign Disciples to help with this (more info down in Assigning Jobs: Issue Orders).

The Sect Tab (& Sammlung)

Here’s where you can view and set up various base functions for your Sect, including custom Rules and your own Schools of Kungfu (details further into the guide).

It also provides lots of useful information about your Sect, namely in the Lot Taxes column. The resources listed here are the availability of each type (hover over for specific item details), and will be delivered to the Warehouse every few days along with any taxes.

Besteuerung & Resource Collection

Delivered every 3 Tage im Spiel, your Disciples will add to the Sect’s finances and supplies based on the numbers in Lot Taxes.

Hovering over each resource type will give you more details, dh. Wood will show “100 Holz, 50 Maple Bark, 50 Pinecones”.

Items are delivered to their respective storage container type (dh. Wood will go into the Grocery Cabinet).

Disciples will also sometimes deliver excess or spare goods of their own volition, such as Clinic pharmacists, who can bring cures like Astringent or Anti-poison Plaster to the Potion Shelf. The more experienced a worker is, the better items they can make and deliver.

Kungfu Schools

Here’s one really fun part about Sects: you get to take a group of peasants and cultivate them into self-sufficient fighting machines.

Schools allow you to take what knowledge you’ve accumulated and teach it to your Disciples, which offers better control and speed of teaching them over Transcribing Manuals at a Bookshelf (which you should do as well!) and gifting to them individually.

Zum Beispiel, let’s have a look at my Monkey Fist school.

It’s very basic but follows some good principles of combat: one damage type as its focus (Fist), plus its counter damage type (Fists are weak to Swords, Kick counters Swords), and Inner Kungfu to supplement (Bionic damage bonus + better vigor/health).

It’s a system ripe for experimentation; the more Kungfu you know, the greater your Disciples can grow!

Sect Rules

What Sect isn’t complete without a code to abide by? While a bit limited right now, you have some options when it comes to the overall attitude your Sect should follow.

This namely breaks down into Entry Requirements und Taboos.

Entry Requirements are of course the requirements a prospective Disciple needs to meet to apply to your Sect, and can be anything from only allowing women or men in, requiring a certain Reputation (like Merciful, meaning they’ve spared people they’ve fought), and even existing Abilities, anything from being able to sprint around (Qinggong), Leechcraft, or even Begging.

Taboos come in a maximum of four, and are all within the context of someone having committed a crime of some sort against the Sect: Negative Attitude (hating a Disciple), Filthy Thief (stealing from a Disciple’s house or business), Traitor of the Sect (attacking a Disciple), and Brutal Killer (taking the head of a Disciple).

You can adjust punishments according to personal preference, such as paying a Fine (max 9,999 Münzen), Detaining (for up to 3 days in jail), Depriving their Kungfu (and creating a grudge in the process), oder “Death is insufficient for the Crime” (taking their head).

Assigning Jobs

Manage Disciples

In this tab you can see your entire list of Disciples (Shifu), as well as the following options:

  1. Sect Position
  2. Expulsion
  3. Workplace/type
  4. Work-relevant Ability level/training
  5. Kungfu School
  6. Kungfu Skill level/training

Clicking on these tabs will open up contextual menus, which is how you Assign them to different jobs.

Here’s a quick demonstration of Assigning a new Training Room instructor:

Position & Prestige

Disciples have to be paid more depending on their Position, with the lowest (Outdoor) being 300 Münzen, Indoor being 500, and Elder being 1,000. As for what the different Positions do.. I’m not actually sure yet. It possibly influences lower-position Disciples and could raise their Prestige.

Prestige has to do with Succession; it’s the number that gets higher when you do quests or good things for a Sect and make its leader happy. When the current Master (Sie) dies, the member with the highest Prestige within the Sect will take over as Master.

Issue Orders

Different from the Release Commissions tab, Issue Orders lets you boss around your Retainers and Shifu (Jünger). You can manually assign a Tax Collector, or order select Disciples to go build something for you (so you don’t have to worry about collecting the resources yourself).

You can even force your Sect’s justice system by manually selecting someone you know toExecute Rules” gegen, with a custom punishment (Pay Fines, Detain, or Kill), and assign a Retainer or Disciple to carry out.

Here’s a demonstration of its most useful function, making multiple Disciples finish a building:

Erweiterung des Territoriums

  • Drücken Sie R to open your Tasks menu
  • Click on the Sect tab
  • Click Expand Territory in the Lot Taxes column

The white flashing Lots note where you’re currently able to expand to, which will always be Lots that are touching your existing territory (including corners), wie unten zu sehen.

You can hover over any flashing Lot to get details of its available resources, which is what your Disciples can gather into your Warehouse.

When expanding to a new Lot, you’ll need to send out some Disciples (maximum of 5) and pay a fee. The fee is taken out of whatever coins your Warehouse has, so you may have to manually drop some in.

Einmal angefangen, you can open your Map and hover over the Lot to see how long it will take before the expansion is complete. The time it takes seems to vary depending on how many Disciples you send (and potentially the Resource wealth of the Lot); testing found that five Disciples had a finish timer of 300~ seconds (5 Protokoll), while a single Disciple had a timer close to 600 (10 Protokoll).

You can expand to multiple Lots at the same time, but only to currently inhabited Lots, and only if you’ve got spare Disciples!

Dueling for Territory

Already established Lots like villages, Städte, and other Sects can be taken into your territory, but they won’t give up their turf without a fight!

Du kann nicht bring Team Up companions to these Duels, it can only be the five Disciples you choose, so you’d better hope they’ve trained hard enough, because they’re going to throw their toughest fighters to defend their claim.

Sect Warfare (not yet implemented)

Waging war against other Sects is on the developer’s agenda, but currently is not in the game. Look forward to it!

Käse: the Bries & the Bleus

This’ll be blocked out for anyone who doesn’t want to exploit the game and go along for the ride, it’s more an opportunity to share the silly nature of how certain mechanics can break the system, at least that I’ve found.

Na sicher, you can always establish yourself by killing your own Sect leaderplus any with enough Prestige who get in your wayand taking their seat at the top, but where’s the fun in that?

Why not turn one of the most annoying factions in the game to your side?

By removing yourprecious treasure”, you can join the guard of the Forbidden City. Then you can capture wanted bandits (and innocent people who probably looked at someone funny) and imprison them for ludicrous amounts of Silver: an incredibly valuable resource that you can trade with people, and that you use to promote yourself within the guard’s ranks.

After paying about the equivalent of 1.2 million coins or so in this currency, you can rise to the rank of Commanderthe highest in the order and only shared by the current (if living) Kommandant – and become Brothers with all the other eunuchs. The moment you place down a Party flag, they’ll all join you on the spot, which is why you’ll see that despite my Sect member limit of 6, I have well over 30 Jünger.

On top, any guards that became Disciples will also toss you their Silver without hesitation, and you’ll soon see that there’s inflation, as the more ridiculously high that pile gets, the less they’re individually worth.
