For some, Elden Ring is considered one of the hardest games right now. Well, we can’t blame them as the enemies in the game are undoubtedly agile and strong. However, if you use the proper skill, you will surely defeat these formidable enemies. One of the most useful skills that players can use is the Bloodhound’s Step, which allows players to teleport dodge, and avoid incoming enemy attacks. With the skill having a very low-cost FP, Bloodhound’s Step is one of the most efficient skills in Elden Ring.
How to Get Bloodhound’s Step Early
Bloodhound’s Step usually becomes available until mid-game. However, there’s a way how you can actually obtain this skill in the early game. In this guide, we’ll show you how to get Bloodhound’s Step as soon as possible.
First of all, where do you get the Bloodhound’s Step Ash of War? Well, it can be obtained by defeating a Night’s Cavalry boss found near the Bestial Sanctum in the Caelid Region. It is located on a bridge shown on the map below, which is in between the Farum Greatbridge and Lenne’s Rise.
Note that since we’re dealing with a Night’s Cavalry boss, the encounter and fight will only be available during nighttime. Taking the boss down is a little bit tricky especially when you’re just in the early game. But how can we easily take the Night’s Cavalry boss down and get the Ash of War if your level is still low?
Fortunately, there are a few tricks that we can recommend to defeat the Night’s Cavalry boss.
The first method is taking advantage of the surroundings while using a ranged weapon. Go near the bridge and find the tree where you can climb. Using a mount can be useful to climb the fallen tree. From there, you can easily attack the Night’s Cavalry. Just make sure that you have enough ammo. For some reason, Night’s Cavalry can’t climb the tree where your attacks are coming from.
The first method is a bit time-consuming but it’s the safest way to kill the Night’s Cavalry.
Another method that you can use is to force the Night’s Cavalry to fall from the edge. This method is easier said than done, but if you managed to pull it off, then you’re lucky to get the Ash of War.
Apart from forcing the Night’s Cavalry to fall, there’s another easy method that you can still use. It’s by luring the enemy in a certain area. From the other side of the bridge (Lenne’s Rise), lure the Night’s Cavalry to the northern area of the bridge. You can check the screenshot below for reference:
The area is littered with Vulgar Militia which hit incredibly hard and poison traps. What you need to do from Lenne’s Rise is lure the Night’s Cavalry then go through the poison traps and make sure that the enemy follows you.
Continue luring the Night’s Cavalry and suddenly you’ll see that he’ll be killed. It seems that the combination of being attacked by the Vulgar Militia and the poison will kill the Night’s Cavalry. It could also be potentially killing itself by running off the edge of the map again.
In case the Night’s Cavalry resets and teleports back to its original location, then all you have to do is repeat the process.
