HoloCure Save the Fans Beginner’s Tips and Tricks

This manual is a collection of pointers and recommendations for new gamers. It doesn’t try to teach you the fundamentals but rather gives you some direction for your first few hours because it is assumed that you have already watched or played some Holocure or other games in the genre like Vampire Survivors or Halls of Torment.

While I’ll do my best to avoid giving any spoilers, you could find some names of things or abilities scattered throughout. Because of this and for the sake of conciseness, the guide avoids using in-game screenshots.

Pre-game Settings

These are non-gameplay tips that may make the experience smoother for you.

  • Both using a mouse & keyboard and a controller are equally effective ways to play. While M&K uses the mouse to aim, the controller may aim using the right stick. With a left click, you can turn this on or off, locking the cursor inside the game’s window.
  • If the game becomes too chaotic and you are having difficulties seeing, you can lower the weapon and VFX opacity in the Settings.
  • Turning off damage totals and visual effects will provide your computer a modest performance boost if it is having trouble.
  • On a keyboard, the Confirm and Cancel buttons act similarly to the left and right clicks, respectively. Instead of moving your mouse to click on three distinct sections of the screen, there are some chores that are easier to complete with those, such as managing upgrades, stamps, and gardening. Keep your wrists free.

Gameplay

These are tips that will help you perform better in your runs and hopefully clear stages with less difficulty.

  • To gain experience points from mobs that perish in the horde that pursues you, try to go in circles rather than directly away from your adversaries.
  • Each idol has three passive Skills as well as a special beginning Weapon. Most of them are decent to good, with many of them serving as character-defining objectives that you should prioritize, especially if you’re new to the game. Don’t forget to level them up; at peak rank, the majority of weapons and a few skills gain a new property.
  • Maximum level for weapons is 7, maximum level for skills is 3, and maximum level for items is 1 to 5 (where are levels 3 and 4?). To perform a “Collab,” which combines two weapons into one stronger, you need two suitable weapons at their highest level.
  • On the right side of the level-up screen and in the pause menu, there is a list of the collab combos you’ve found.
  • The performance of weapons is frequently multiplied when they advance in rank, such as by increasing the number of projectiles they can fire. when a result, having fewer upgraded weapons is generally more efficient than having many low rank ones. However…
  • The level-up selections and Holozon boxes favor the weapons and accessories you currently own. Even if you now wish to update something else, it may be a good idea to purchase an item in advance if you know you will want it in the future because it may be difficult to locate. When you open a Holozon, it will almost always offer you a level up on anything you already own, but if that isn’t possible, it will be something random that you have no control over.
  • There are rarer and more common weapons and things. These “weight” values are displayed on the wiki. Most weapons and equipment are currently under development. The item is more widespread and vice versa as weight increases.
  • Use your character’s special ability as often as you can, as well as any skills that are essentially active abilities with a cooldown, such as Ollie’s Zombie Ninjutsu. Not just in Holocure, but in a lot of games in general, this is an excellent technique. Very few “oh shit” buttons are worth preserving permanently, and delaying them for too long means you lose uses of the Special/skill over the course of a run, which lowers performance.
  • Once this feature is available, enchanting weapons is the best application for anvils. When you touch Upgrade, it is the second choice. Weapons specific to a character cannot be charmed. A collab will take on both enchantments if you enchant both halves of it before merging them. The cost of gold is nothing to be concerned about because income far outweighs it.
  • Start with Kiara if you don’t have a preference or don’t know which character to pick. She has good movement speed—one of the most crucial aspects of the game—good damage steroid, high base HP, blocks attacks, excellent heal over time, and moderate damage. She’s also perfect for teaching you how to play the game because she encourages continuous movement to avoid adversaries and requires some aim with her simple weapon while still covering a sufficient area. I have no bias. Another well-balanced selection from the starters is Gura.
  • If you ever equip something that you later realize you don’t want, you can manage your Stamps from the pause menu.
  • The cons of products like Gorilla’s Paw, Energy Drink, and Membership are typically much underrated and outweigh the cons. Additionally, Paw has almost no drawbacks if your character has a low critical chance and no crit synergy in their kit.

Upgrades and Unlocks

This section aims to provide guidance on how to spend your Holocoins, the game’s main currency, during the early game.

  • Of course, you should strive to obtain your preferred characters from the gacha, but aside from that…
  • The first level of Growth, Special Attack, and Stamps are all really affordable and will significantly improve your runs. Without Special and Stamps, you’re losing out on a sizable portion of power. Enchantments can be slightly delayed and are, in my opinion, secondary.
  • If you don’t hyperfocus on a single idol, you won’t be able to readily access fandom in the early game. It is advised to unlock it as quickly as possible, although the first time you do so, 2000 coins are wasted.
  • Movement Speed (SPD Up) is really crucial. If you simply outrun the enemy and are quicker to evade AoEs, many deaths can be averted.
  • For characters lacking built-in healing, even one point in Regeneration can make a significant difference and ease some difficulties in the early stages of a run. Take a few early.
  • Everything you do in Money Gain Up is really about acquiring coins in the first place, so it’s an investment that consistently pays off. Upgrade it more if you don’t believe your current level of play is being hampered by your numbers.
  • Every upgrade’s initial levels are fairly affordable and should always be purchased. Aside from…
  • Beyond their maximum level, upgrading weapons in Anvils is impacted by Enhancement Rate Up. This costs coins, has a chance to fail, and raises their base damage. You can disregard this node because it’s unlikely to be anything you perform in regular Stage Mode runs as a rookie player.
  • It “will increase the difficulty of the game,” according to marketing. This is largely untrue because more enemy spawns typically result in more kills, which gives you more experience points and drops. Halu is a comparable but more hazardous item. Give them a try.
  • The achievements either grant coins or grant access to brand-new tools and equipment. There are several quite potent components hidden on the list, so it’s a good idea to look at it and figure out how to get everything. Playing a particular character, completing certain stages, or doing numerous other tasks may be prerequisites.
  • Unlock one of IRyS (Council+Hope banner), Ayunda Risu (Area 15), or Pavolia Reine (Holoro) if (when) you want to power farm a lot of cash. Because the ID girls’ banners only have three characters as compared to Council’s six, they are simpler. Although there is much space for improvement, the main idea is to use one of those characters along with the Greed Stamp and the Super Chatto Time! item to use in Endless Mode runs to make a lot of money. Additionally, it is advised that you complete the Weapon Limit improvement under Others.
  • You don’t have to engage with Holo House if you don’t want to, but the food buffs you can cook there are quite potent. It will be a reasonable boost to have even the most basic Tempura for +30% ATK in the early game. Additionally, you can produce coins by fishing, selling the fish, and then trading the sand you catch for cash. In spite of the fact that you aren’t playing the main game or obtaining unlocks, this has a decent probability of being faster than early game runs.
