How To Cross The Barrier In Aurvangar Wetlands in God Of War Ragnarok

Kratos and his son Atreus have finally started their new journey in God of War Ragnarok. One of the first locations that players need to explore is the Aurvangar Wasteland, which has a lot of springs and more. Apart from these places, players will also be getting to solve the water wheel puzzle. Failure to solve this puzzle will restrict players from progressing in the game. If you’re stuck with this puzzle, this guide will cover the details of how to complete it.

How to Lower the Gate in Aurvangar Wasteland

Once you reach the boat dock in Aurvangar Wasteland, you will find yourself blocked by the gate. Unfortunately, you can just simply jump through the gate to proceed. Instead, you need to solve the puzzle first.

To do this, you need to use your Leviathan Axe to freeze the geyser. First, freeze the geyser by throwing the axe into the water. This will temporarily stop the geyser, allowing you to proceed to the next area.

After passing through the frozen geyser, call your axe, then throw it to the water vent covering another geyser. Remove the water vent.

After removing the water vent, freeze the geyser where you previously passed through. Freezing that geyser will increase the force of the new geyser, resulting in the rotation of the huge wheel.

The wheel’s rotation will bring the platform to the frozen geyser. Once it goes down, cut the chain of the platform. This will also block the previously frozen geyser. Since the block is too heavy, you can jump into the platform and use your Leviathan Axe to freeze the other geyser. Freezing the other geyser will then increase the upstream of the geyser where the platform is located.

The platform will bring you to the next floor, where you can pull the chain that will unlock the barrier.

And that’s how you can open the barrier blocking your path in the Aurvangar Wetlands area. Credits to Gamer Guides for the in-game screenshots.
