How to Get More Units and Nanites in No Man’s Sky

In this guide I will show you some easy methods of making Units and Nanites relatively quickly. All you really need is some patience and some resources.

Units: NipNip Bud Farm

NipNip buds are great passive income. A stack of them will get you around 500k Units, I make over 10 million for 250 of them. You can use planters to grow them, but for greater efficiency and less hassle you’ll need Biodomes and lots of them

What you’ll need:

  • Biodome: 25 Magnetised Ferrite 5 Glass each
  • NipNip: 1 NipNip Bud, 20 Faecium each

Each Biodome needs 20 power, so make sure you have a large supply of power.

Units: Cryo Pumps

Cryo Pumps are tedious and expensive to make, but each one has a base price of 1.5 million units, and a full stack makes 15 million units. You’ll need a LOT of Radon, Sulpherine, and Nitrogen gas as well as a ton of Condensed Carbon. I personally have planetside mines for each of the gases, but stellar extractors in your freighter will collect the gas of the system it’s in

Recipe below. If you don’t have one of the ingredients, it can be researched on the anomaly

Nanites: Suspicious Packets

Suspicious Packets are probably the best way to make nanites, it mostly just involves frequently jumping to pirate controlled systems and a decent amount of Units to buy.

What you’re looking for is Suspicious Packet (Tech) and Suspicious Packet (Arms). When you open one up, most of the time it will give you a tech or weapon upgrade module for your ship, multi-tool, and exosuit. Jump to pirate space stations and get as many of these as you can, open them up, and when you’re done head to a normal station to sell them to a merchant and you’ll get a massive nanite profit. I got over 12k nanites one time just from doing this.

Conclusion

There are many ways to make money and nanites in this game, but these are the ones I use the most. I have over 300 hours in No Man’s Sky, so I figured it was time to share some of the things I’ve learned over the years.
