How to Hunt Ghost in Apparition

I put together some tips below of what I’ve learned after an hour of gameplay so I’m sure it’ll be missing some stuff since I haven’t used every item available or experienced everything the game has to offer so far (I’ll update if needed). These tips are for those who don’t understand or are frustrated with certain aspects of the game. Hopefully, it is of help to those who need it but if you’re like me and enjoy not having your hand held in games like this then do not proceed reading!

Tips to keep in mind when Ghost Hunting

~ Only way to keep your points is to survive: Escaping using the car on the road you arrived in at the start of the game. You may do so at any time during your investigation.

– When taking photos with your camera in the dark, make sure you press ‘F’ to turn your flash on while aiming it (not sure what it is on the controller). Taking photos of body bags, blood stains, spirits / demons, etc. will gain you experience points. Use these points to purchase / unlock new equipment before each game which you can take with you in future sessions.

~ When selecting your equipment, keep in mind that you only can carry up to a maximum of 100 space points. Be sure to take what you want and need, if you don’t equip anything other than the default then you will have nothing more to use. Each item has different values and a few are free from the start, some with 0 space points required to take with you so be sure to equip them if they aren’t since you’ll have to do so before every game. One example is the pack of batteries which you can use for your camera and voice recorder so always equip those before every game but its alright if you don’t being that you can find batteries in the game laying around. For some reason when selecting equipment, there aren’t any arrows to switch between items within each category – click to its left and right to switch between them.

– If you want points gained during your Spirit Board sessions, be sure to equip the tripod before starting your game otherwise you won’t gain points using the Spirit Board. It will show up once you set up your Spirit Board at the main camp fire.

~ Try gathering as much wood branches and sheet metal laying around the map. It can be used to craft items such as traps and upgrade your equipment in the main house’s work bench in the cellar / basement. You’ll need the crowbar in order to gain access to the cellar. There’s also a small house with a locked front door to the far left of the map behind the main house next to the Spirit board camp fire – use a lock pick to open it.

– Going into the cellar when being chased will stop an entity from chasing you.

~ Every entities encountered has different behavior patterns, finding a page with their image on it and looking behind the page will help you know their speed, weaknesses and how to deal with them effectively.

– There is a limit to the play area in the forest you can explore. At time you will see a screen prompting that you’re leaving play area. If you continue leaving, you will die. Don’t know what kills you, maybe from ghost farts XDDDDD.

~ Be sure to scavenge available locations such as house / shacks and abandoned camp fires which may have a backpack with supplies, battery or sheet metal laying around so pick them up when spotted. Wood can be found around the forest. Some items in the map are randomly placed so every game can have different locations such as batteries.

– You arrive at night so time in the game will progress the longer you survive. Time is displayed on the top left of your screen. Your night is over once you start seeing that its becoming day, at this point you will get a screen prompt saying something like: “I had enough of this, time to get back to my car”. Don’t think any entities will be showing up around this time but I’m not sure since I haven’t verified this to be true.
