Are you tired of Thronefall’s troublesome difficulty? Do you want to get all of the achievements so you can enjoy a sense of accomplishment, but actually earning them legitimately isn’t that big of a concern? Or maybe you want to enjoy some bragging rights with your friends by having an unbeatable high score?
If so, this guide is for you!
Editing your Save
- Begin a game normally and complete the first wave.
- After the first wave is completed take note of how much money you have and exit your game.
- Go to your local user game files.
- If you’re on windows the path will be something like User -> AppData -> LocalLow -> Grizzly Games -> Thronefall. If you can’t see your AppData folder make sure you have the box checked to see hidden items that’s in the view tab.
- Find the JSON file for the map you were just doing. E.G. “Frostsee.json”. As usual when screwing around with save files, it would be a good idea to make a copy of this just in case.
- Open the file with your favorite text editor. Notepad or Sublime both will work fine for this.
- Search for for the word “balance” (without quotations). After balance you’ll see something like “value”:7, except instead of 7 it’ll be whatever amount of money you had before.
- Change that number to whatever amount of money you want. Then hit save. Note – there’s probably other aspects of the save besides money that can be edited but I haven’t really tried to figure any of them out as money is enough by itself to thoroughly break any game.
- Re-open your game, and make sure you hit the continue option for that same map. If you did things right you’ll see that you now have your new amount of money.
- Enjoy steamrolling the rest of the run!
