How to Make a Modular Engine in Stormworks: Build and Rescue

This guide will be showing you how to easily make a modular engine in Stormworks: Build and Rescue.

Making the Crankshaft

The Crankshaft is the most important part of the engine, although it does not generate power. That part will be discussed next.

Adding the Cylinders

The Cylinders are also important as they will generate RPS (Revolutions Per Second).

Adding the Expansions

The Expansions are needed to allow the cylinders to generate RPS.

Ruh Roh!

Looks like we made a mistake. We need to switch the coolant expansion to the other side.

Adding the Stuff

Those expansions won’t power themselves. Add the radiator, fluid tank, and other components to power the cylinders.

Adding the Clutch

The Clutch is needed to convert the RPS to the transmission.

Adding the Starter and Drive Belt

The Drive Belt is needed to attach a starter to the engine. Add one on the opposite side of the crankshaft from where the clutch is.

Adding the Engine Controller

This will make the engine work. I am using [THI-G] Microcontrollers for the logic.

Adding the Auto-Clutch

This will allow the clutch to work. Again, I am using a [THI-G] Microcontroller for this.

Congrats!

Yay, you did it! You made a modular engine. Now you need a throttle lever and batteries, but that’s the engine.
