How To Complete The Endless Eclipse in BERSERK and the Band of the Hawk

This guide will go over everything needed to complete all the desires in the Endless Eclipse, while also showing each characters set up, strategies, and weaknesses.

Eclipse Overview

The Endless Eclipse

The Eclipse is a 100 layer endurance battle that needs to be completed with each character in order to complete every desire.

This is a long and repetitive process that takes LOTS of replaying and can get mind numbing at times.

I highly recommend doing this AFTER you have completed the main game.

Important Unlocks

  • Each character gets a special outfit once they complete the eclipse some outfits are very good as they give you an infinite frenzy transformation (Guts, Zodd, Wyald, Griffith) others can range in usefulness.
  • All items, warhorses, character exclusive accessories, and many behelits
  • Many achievements and unlocks in the game require a completion of the eclipse desires (which are basically the different levels in the eclipse and they can be character specific. So if you want permanent Femto get ready to beat the eclipse with every character)

Important General Combat Skills

Wall Trapping

Most bosses will be moving around but if you stun them sometimes you can get them trapped against the wall / boundaries of the map and this can lead to massive damage and pretty consistent stuns. Wall trapping is good with every character but it truly shines with Guts Zodd and Wyald in my opinion as their heavy (Y) attacks can lead to massive damage if they hit multiple times.

Animation Cancelling

Animation cancelling is pretty important later game and it is actually pretty simple to do, just dodge (UN) once the combo comes to an end. This is especially useful for the Apostle characters as they always want to emote after doing any combo and rather then taking needless damage or wasting your frenzy just dodge to regain control.

Possible Bugs & Annoying “Caratteristiche”

Glitches I have Encountered

  • Game Crashes (This can be really annoying as the eclipse doesn’t allow saves and only allows checkpoints every 20 layers.) Use Compatibility Mode If Possible
  • Getting Stun-locked (Many bosses can trap you in a corner and stun lock you mainly Femto and this can ruin a run if you’re not careful.) Try not to get cornered between walls and hordes of enemies
  • Invincibility Frame Inconsistency (With how easy it is to get stun-locked that logic is not the same for bosses. Anytime you knock out one health bar or even stun Wyald or Zodd specifically they just can’t be touched for a couple seconds. Unfortunately this drains your frenzy and gives you no return.) The best thing to do is play it safe, learning when to time your frenzy, and to run a bit before it fully drains.

Important Boss Strategies

Some Annoying Bosses and How to Counter Them

Thief KingThis boss is surprisingly annoying first of all he has WAY TOO MANY invincibility frames. There is a specific attack where he charges the player through a flurry of claw slash attacks where no damage can be done even in frenzy mode. Once you see the white aura around him appear there is no way to do damage until after his ending animation. He has another attack that is a tail slam that can knock you away from him, even in frenzy mode for certain characters. He not only moves towards the player but he can launch and stun them multiple times. This boss can get you wall trapped and stun-locked with his claw slash attack this can drain your health. Your best bet is to try to use your final blow (B) or a puck spark ASAP to get some space if this occurs. Overall this boss isn’t really hard considering its at a lower to mid tier layer but it still has a lot of BS that makes the fight very frustrating. Just make sure you have a full frenzy, keep your distance from walls, and stay away from him when you see the white aura when he turns around.

The CountThe Count isn’t really hard but he doesn’t allow horses in his arena so charging your frenzy is a bit more difficult. Really just avoid his tentacles time your frenzy and run around the map as a recharge but overall this boss is very easy.

Wyald Just horse strategy Wyald and attack when you can look out for his stomp because you won’t be able to damage him during it. Also for whatever reason his hit-box gets weird if you tun him and more often than not you will only be able to get one or two hits in. Wyald only had one threatening move and that is his club throw which can not only hit you off your horse but do a chunk of damage in later layers. The hit-box on that club is NOT accurate and even being near it will count as you getting hit so just run in zig-zags to avoid this.

Ogre and KelpieSimilar to Wyald to ogre can throw a plank at the player with an inaccurate hit-box so just try to avoid that while also avoiding the Kelpie’s water attacks. The best strategy is to just be on your horse and keep your distance until your frenzy fills then try to hit both at once.

SlanSlan is surprisingly easy just charge her on your horse (Y) in the corner to build up frenzy then the moment she attacks activate frenzy (B) and go to town. Slan will disappear randomly and won’t be kill-able until she spawns 3 ogres. Just run around on your horse and ignore them and you can corner trap her as she can’t move out of the corner.

Ganishka Ganishka is an annoying boss with way too much health but if you play as any character besides Casca you can just regular attack (X) or heavy attack (Y) spam at the edge of the stage. Then once that health bar disappears he will spawn in the center, then the edge again and so on. He spawns lightning and sometimes has random attacks you don’t see that hit you. He can unfortunately stun-lock you in his later stage as if his lightning hits you he can spawn another one immediately and your character just won’t get up quick enough. You will keep taking damage since invincibility frames are only reserved for bosses so just don’t get greedy with your hits and avoid the lightning at all costs. You can’t bring a horse in this stage so the horse strategy doesn’t work meaning you will have to stall for time and run along the edge AWAY from Ganishka avoiding his random lightning attacks. Or you can try to get a few cheeky hits with a heavy amount of dashing (UN). There will be a war demon in the corner of the stage don’t engage it during the fight as it can just knock you into the lightning so just wait until you beat Ganishka. Finally he has an attack that covers the whole map BESIDES the very corner so just pray that no lightning goes in that exact spot and you should be ok. Overall make sure you have your frenzy if you plan to engage, and once you do spam your most damaging attack to try to melt him as quick as possible.

Femto Femto has multiple health bars which leads to subsequent phases.Getting his pool of health down to half is simple enough but the last half is extremely time consuming. He has orbs that basically follow and track you and will make your character fall asleep for like 3 seconds and with no invincibility frames this can stun lock you while he gets to combo you with no defense. There are more and more orbs as the battle goes on avoid them at all cost. Many of Femto’s regular combos can drag you into his attacks even if your not in hitting range or behind him so when he attacks don’t get to close until he finishes and waves his cape. The horse strategy is essential in this fight maintain distance and strike when the orbs are not near you and hes finished attacking. If you get caught in his attacks without frenzy mode he will eat up a lot of your health so play very safe. His orbs can still hit you in frenzy mode if you are not attacking or if you are Casca so still be careful of them as they are the worst part about his fight. The best way to go about this fight is to use the horse strategy and have him chase you around while frenzy builds up then avoid the orbs and get close enough to him to where he performs his attack. Once he gets to the tornado and it fades away use your frenzy and try to hit him in the back as much as possible with your strongest attacks. Mix in some final blows (B) and a puck spark or any other stun move since puck spark only affects him like half the time as it’s very inconsistent. Rinse and repeat and keep an eye on your frenzy timer so you know when to run away and charge him again. He is definitely a skill check but once you beat him once with Casca or any lower tier character he becomes way easier with better characters as you learn ways to optimize your damage and stunning power.

Horse Strategy (OP)

The Best Strategy To Get Through The Eclipse

The horse strategy is actually really easy call your horse into the battle (LT) then use the dash feature to damage enemies to build up frenzy while using a horse with a resurgence ability (as the resurgence ability helps to passively give you frenzy charge). If no enemies are available just take a pony ride around the map to rebuild your frenzy gauge passively then once you are ready to attack just go into frenzy mode (B). When your frenzy mode is ending call the horse again, risciacqua e ripeti.

The horses above all have the stat which allows them to give you passive resurgence just by riding them. The berserk horse is a DLC horse but I do find it the best given that it has max resurgence and health which are both really good stats. The health stat works without even riding the horse as well so it is just a free bonus of health to every character even if they can’t call a horse. The skeleton horse was the one I used before I got the DLC so it is pretty good. (And yes the horse DLC does have THAT cavallo).

Pre Eclipse Items

Items I Used Before Special Accessories

I found that these 2 accessories and stats were really good just for going through the eclipse regularly with every character.-Although if you want to adjust the enhancements and such it is all based on personal preference

Queste 2 accessories are interchangeable whether you care more about frenzy or base damage so it is whatever you want your play style to be.

(Just add one of these to the 2 essential ones and you get a pretty good stat sheet with some nice bonuses.)

I started out with the attack Idol then I realized how broken frenzy mode was and started using the frenzy idol.

Guts

Guts Beast of Darkness Build

Guts in his Beast of Darkness form is a powerhouse who is surprisingly fast, and in my opinion him and Femto are the strongest bonus outfits.

Guts has a heavy attack spam (Y) in which he does a flip and then combos into dragging his sword through the ground. This attack is pretty broken as you can juggle a lot of different enemies EVEN FEMTO and it can lead to multiple stuns.

This attack is easy to pull off just spam (Y) and move into whichever direction you want WHILE YOU STILL SPAM (Y) as that makes the attack last even longer.

Guts regular (X) spam is also really powerful and in all honesty you can’t really go wrong with any combo as hes just really OP.

Guts has a pretty good final blow (B) which basically launches whatever is near up intro the air he then damages them and causes an explosion after. This has a high chance to stun anything it doesn’t kill and it does a pretty good amount of damage.

UNFORTUNATELY Guts in this form can’t call his warhorse but to be honest he doesn’t really need it as his frenzy gauge fills up super quickly. Especially since he is now seemingly unaffected by Femto orbs when attacking if he is in this mode.

Wyald

Wyald Apostle Build

Wyald is an interesting character that requires a LOT of animation cancelling due to his long emotes seemingly after every combo. (Just dash to cancel them)

Wyald’s regular (X) attacks are pretty hit or miss sometimes you think you hit an enemy but you don’t, and other times they can get damaged heavily by his regular combo.

Wyald’s best attack in my opinion is his heavy (Y) attacco, where he does a belly-flop and slide which can do lots of damage if an enemy is wall-trapped and can lead to pretty useful stuns.

My strategy for any boss is to go into frenzy mode and try to line up his belly flop slide (Y) then animation cancel once it ends (UN) which leads to his four hit regular (X +4) combo with an animation cancel at the end (UN). Rinse and repeat this while mixing in some final blows (B) and playing safe with frenzy mode.

Wyald does not get a warhorse but that’s ok because he is pretty powerful on his own. He is also unaffected by Femto orbs when he is in this mode.

Zodd

Zodd Apostle Build

Zodd is similar to how Wyald operates except animation cancelling is needed a little bit less, and his and Wyald both have similar heavy and regular attacks.

Zodd has a flying attack (Y) that is basically like Wyald’s belly-flop it does a lot of damage and is really good when an enemy is wall-trapped. I recommend animation cancelling when it ends but unfortunately it takes a second to start the attack and there is no way to avoid the wait time.

Zodd’s regular attacks (X) are definitely better than Wyald’s as they hit more consistently but they do operate similar to where an animation cancel is needed once the combo string ends.

Zodd does not get a warhorse but that’s ok because he is pretty powerful on his own. He is unaffected by Femto orbs in this mode.

Schierke

Schierke Build

Schierke has a very powerful frenzy mode where any combo can be very powerful and it is priority number one to get her in frenzy mode as much as possible.

Schierke’s final outfit unlock is bad from my own testing, it doesn’t seem to make her magic quicker or give her the really strong spells she gets in her frenzy mode which was pretty disappointing.

Schierke has a lot of different combos which combine the elements of water, fuoco, vento, and earth. A combo that I use to build up frenzy when off of the horse is just a regular attack (X) spam is it usually builds frenzy relatively quickly.

You can play Schierke really technically and string a bunch of combos together in her frenzy mode but I honestly found it easier to just heavy attack (Y) spam. This destroys the ground below the enemy, then drops a boulder on them which explodes after. This attack is really good as it has a chance for the ground shatter to stun or for the boulder explosion to stun. It also is a ranged attack and does a good amount of damage so it’s SUPER useful against Femto especially if you manage to stun him. Also in frenzy mode many attacks won’t interrupt your spell-casting like they normally would in the regular mode so the dreaded Femto orbs aren’t as much of a threat.

Also since Schierke doesn’t really get a transformation she still gets a warhorse even with the unlock-able outfit.

Serpico

Serpico Build

Serpico is a swordsman who relies a lot on regular attacks (X) although he does have one piercing heavy attack (Y) most of the time his regular (X) spam in frenzy mode did the job.

Serpico’s new outfit allows him to infinite combo if done correctly so rather than having a long pause after his regular (X) combo he can start a new one relatively quick.

Serpico has a final blow (B) which is pretty good in conjunction with stunning using a string of regular (X) attacks and ending with a heavy (Y) attack in his frenzy mode. I used the final blow as a combo starter against Femto so I could avoid his attacks and actually get decent damage. During many boss battles I always tried to get behind the boss as it felt like it did more damage and lead to easier stuns (Although this could just be placebo). He is able to quickly attack through Femto orbs in his frenzy mode if you spam hard enough. Finally he can still call his war horse in his final unlock-able outfit due to the lack of transformation.

Judeau

Judeau Build

Judeau is another very fast character who can change multiple regular (X) attacks with ending heavy (Y) attacchi.

Judeau’s outfit from what I have seen allows for faster combo breaks once an attack ends. I also think it adds a bit of damage and defense (Although this could be placebo). In general the arguably fastest character in the game gets faster which isn’t too bad.

My general strategy for Judeau is to regular attack (X) spam usually you can do that around 7 times and end with a heavy attack (Y) which adds a kick for a chance to stun (Although this does take a bit longer for him to start another combo if you end with the kick). Like Serpico I try to get behind bosses or wall trap while spamming regular (X) attacks for pretty good damage. He is fast and his dashes feel really quick so use those when needed. His frenzy and final blow (B) are essential due to his lower attack power when you initially use him. He builds his frenzy fast due to the amount of attacks he does which is a plus. Femto orbs can be seemingly ignored or dodged when in frenzy mode leading to nice some nice combos with possible stuns with his final blow (B). Finally since he has no transformation he can in fact call his warhorse.

Overall I really thought Judeau was going to be extremely difficult to use against Femto and the rest of the bosses but I was pleasantly surprised by his speed and combo chains.

Casca

Casca Build

Casca is a VERY HARD carattere… She simply is not fast, doesn’t have a lot of combos that are good against bosses, and her final blow (B) doesn’t really do a lot and can outright just miss

With that being said Casca has a singular good attack for bosses and that is just heavy attack (Y) spam, all her other attacks are not great. She is one of the few characters that can actually get over-run by small regular enemies and get caught in a stun lock. She also CAN get stun-locked in her frenzy mode. This even applies to the Femto orbs which WILL STUN HER even if she’s attacking in her frenzy mode.

The only strategy you can use against bosses like Femto is to just use the horse strategy to get your frenzy gauge filled while spamming dodge and heavy attack (Y) and trying to stay behind him while avoiding the Femto orbs.

You can use puck spark to try to stun but as said before that is hit or miss with Femto and none of her sub weapon attacks are really that good or do a stun. The Femto fight is basically a coin toss if you can get damage on him or not he can just combo you across the map or you can chip his final health bar ever so slightly. Either way it is an extremely painful final fight and basically Casca cannot be touched by any attack or she will do no damage, even her final blow (B) barely does anything. So just keep using the horse strategy and trying to get some chip damage in, and throw on a YouTube video because you’re gonna be at the final fight for a LONG TIME.

Since Casca has no transformation she does get a war-horse and from what I have tested she is the ONLY CHARACTER that still gets hard stunned by Femto orbs 100% of the time even in Frenzy mode.

Griffith

Griffith Hybrid Femto Build

There are multiple modes of Griffith but I will be going over mainly the hybrid / permanent Femto builds as those are the most fun. The hybrid Femto outfit can be unlocked before you even complete any desires with Griffith so make sure to do his run AFTER the other characters.

In regular Griffith mode he has 2 Attacks I used a lot. The first is a simple heavy attack (Y) hold in which he turns around then stabs the enemies behind him multiple times. The second is a regular attack (X +4) into a heavy attack (Y) spam. This causes him to have 4 initial regular attack then multiple dashing heavy attacks that are good against most enemies.

But what I really want to focus on is getting him into Femto as much as possible as he does an INSANE amount of damage. In his hybrid mode Griffith looks like hes in his regular mode but he gets a transformation once his final blow gauge fills up. THIS CAN BE UNLOCKED BY DOING 80% OF THE ECLIPSE DESIRES.

Basically Femto’s attacks are broken and super fun, as you become the final boss MINUS THE ANNOYING FEMTO ORBS. Some of his best moves are just a regular attack (X) spam which does a cape attack –> dive attack –> dimension wall –> tornado. It does a lot of damage and wipes out small enemies. Femto also has a very powerful heavy attack (Y) spam which CAN STUN-LOCK NEARLY EVERY ENEMY EVEN FINAL BOSS FEMTO. To do this just spam heavy attack (Y) this will create a big ball which explodes doing massive damage then it sinks the enemies into the ground towards you giving a basically guaranteed stun. If an enemy has a lot of health you can just rinse and repeat this heavy attack (Y) spam to just melt their health bar.

Femto is immune to other Femto orbs and can’t call his war-horse as it’s a transformation but he is still very broken and super fun to use as he destroys any enemy.
