ManaSoul Beginner’s Guide and Tips

This is a beginner’s guide to ManaSoul which will help new players get their first 5 levels and learn about some of the content available in this game. It will also cover the currently running Events available.

Intro

First things first! This is a completely open world and sandbox Multiplayer Online RPG. You don’t have to follow this guide if you don’t want to. Feel free to explore and play how you want to!

Let me say something important here: do not kill normal mobs (the enemies you find in the overworld randomly walking around) for EXP. They don’t give any EXP and it’s not worth your time or effort to kill them unless a quest asks you to.

Easiest Level 1-5

Before we get started, remember that “Arcane Locus” thing you got during the tutorial, it’s a grappling hook that can pull you to certain rainbow colored markers. You’ll need that so stick it on your hot bar along the bottom of the screen.

Now go out the western exit of Gemshine City (the leftmost exit) and start searching for chests to open! Not only will this get you all the way from level 1 up to level 5 easily it’ll also give you some early items that will be very useful in your journey. The most notable of which being Faded Memories and Gem Fragments/Shards.

There are a ton of chests hidden around the world so this could be as quick as a 30 minute run, or as slow as a 2 hour trek, depending on how perceptive you are. Don’t worry though and just have fun with it. If you completely exhaust the chests in the Sapphire Path (the leftmost zone) then feel free to explore into the Ruby Crag. (The southern zone.)

What do I do now?

After you’ve hit Level 5 you might be wondering where to put your level up Stat points. Check out what Spells are available that you might like in the Spellforge in Gemshine City or take a look at my other Guide, click here to go to it. Don’t worry about it too much as you can reset your Stat points later on using a Mindmelt Tincture from the General Store.

Now it’s time to open up any Faded Memories you might have obtained during your treasure hunt! Hopefully you’ll get some useful gear, some Gold, and possibly some Gem Shards.

Go ahead and sell the gear that won’t give the Stats you desire.

Now here are my two recommendations:

  • if you got enough Gem Shards for your Element (Ruby for Fire, Sapphire for Water, Topaz for Earth, Jade for Wind) then purchase an Unsealed Scroll from the General Store and go make your very first Spell at the Spellforge! If you’ve got 100G left over then also purchase the Small Healing Flask.
  • if you did not get enough Gem Shards for a Spell then instead purchase a Small Healing Flask. (Level 5 requirement to use.) Save up your Gold after that to purchase the Gem Shards necessary for your first Spell.

Now you’re ready to get started with other content in the game.

Just a warning, if you didn’t get your first Spell by now then combat may be a little difficult or just plain slow. Feel free to ask in Global Chat for help from other players or you can always offer to trade the Gem Shards you don’t need for the ones you do need in Global Chat.

Quests, Trials, Delves, and Dungeons

Right into the real meat of the game now!

Let’s cover the terminology used here first:

Trials are typically single room boss fights without any other mobs. (As of right now.) These are a great way to earn EXP.

Delves are short mini-dungeons that could be cleared alone but it’s much faster and preferable to run through them as a party of 2-4 players. Delves are another awesome way to gain EXP.

Dungeons are high tier difficult content that absolutely require 4 players, and a Tank & Healer are both necessary to clear them. Dungeons are typically not run for the EXP but rather for the fantastic rewards you get from fully clearing them.

Aside from those, you could also choose to level up through doing Questing. NPCs scattered throughout the world of Valeyra will have Quests for you to take on and they can give plenty of EXP.

A great and easy way to level up from Level 5 -> 6 is by running the “Spitfire Run” Delve located in Ruby Crag.

Okay now you know about the primary methods of leveling up. Hold on though – it’s too grindy you say? No worries! We’ve got weeklies available in game that’ll give you a ton of EXP.

Bounty Board: You can accept up to 5 Bounties each real-life week, resetting on Friday, and they will ask you to go kill a Trial boss that’s around your level range. (1-10, 10-15.) If you don’t like the Bounty you got, you can speak to Ledarud standing next to the Bounty Board to change your current Bounty up to 3 times every week. (Which also resets on Fridays.)

Weekly Challenges: Clear all the Trials and Delves in a zone to gain a guaranteed level up and a Mana Fragment (used for advanced Spellforging) every week. You can do this in every zone! Resets on Fridays.

Events

In this section I’ll cover the currently running Event in ManaSoul.

The developers have stated that they plan to always have an Event going 24/7 and that the plan is for each one to last a month.

If this is outdated that means the Event has just changed and I likely don’t have enough information about it, however, I’ll update this whenever I possibly can.

Current Event: Launch Celebration

World Bosses will always drop you Celebratory Memories which are a unique type of Memory. They can contain all kinds of useful Spellforging materials, lower tier Memories, Gold coins, and very rarely better items. (Silver Feathers for the Anti-FOMO store, cosmetics, and maybe even an ultra rare Spell.) Rare Mobs (Enchanted Kitsu, Alpha Emberclaw, and the Spectral Stag) have a chance to drop Celebratory Memories as well.

Current Event: Xmas Event

You can obtain Winter Tickets through various content or opening Winter Memories. These Tickets are used to fight Santa Claws (Normal Difficulty) at the Purveyor of Celebrations. This is a Level 10 boss fight which is best ran with a party of other players. Santa Claws (Normal) always drops 5 Winter Memories and rarely a Santa Hat or Elf Helper Hat (both of which are cosmetics).

EX Winter Tickets are used to challenge Santa Claws (EX Difficulty) which is a significantly harder boss fight. They can be obtained by exchanging 10 Winter Tickets at the Purveyor of Celebrations or you can also obtain EX Winter Tickets through Menphina’s Font which is a difficult Level 10 Dungeon. Santa Claws EX always drops some Winter Memories and has a chance to drop the game’s first Legendary tier Accessory.

Santa Claws (Normal Difficulty) is without a doubt the fastest way to level up from Levels 8 -> 15! Prioritize this while the Event is running. The Level 10 Jadewood Delve is the easiest way to consistently obtain Winter Tickets.
