NBA 2K23 Layup | How to Euro Step, Floater, Reverse, and More

Just like the previous NBA 2K installment, players were able to perform different types of layups in NBA 2K23. Some of the most popular layups that are being performed are the floater, reverse, and euro step layups. But how can you perform these kinds of layups in NBA 2K23? Read on as we guide you through the steps on how to make a successful layup of your choice in the game.

NBA 2K23 Layups

Before we start, please note that we’re using the PlayStation version of NBA 2K23 to make this guide. However, you still use this guide as a reference if you’re playing the game on Xbox or PC (when using a gamepad controller).

  • Normal Layup – While moving towards the basket, hold the Right Analog Stick up.
  • Floater/Runner – As you get close to your character’s close range, hold the Right Analog Stick down.
  • Euro Step Layup – While approaching the basket, double-tab the Square button while holding the Left Analog Stick towards the off-hand.
  • Reverse Layup – While driving, hold the Right Analog Stick along the right baseline.
  • Quick Scoop Layup – While driving, hold the Right Analog Stick left or right.
  • Cradle Layup – Simply double-tap the Square button while holding the Left Analog Stick toward the ball-hand.
  • Spin Layup – While driving, hold R2 and double-tap the Square button, then quickly followed by the Square button.
  • Hop Step Layup – Simply double-tap the Square button with the Left Analog Stick deflected left or right, then hold the Square button.

If you’re playing NBA 2K23 on PC using your keyboard, it’s sad to say that your only choice to perform a layup is by clicking the Numpad 5 key. This is the reason why we highly recommend using a gamepad controller as you can perform more layup attacks.
