This guide will explain how to get the Halloween trophy and ID Badge for the Phasmophobia 2023 Halloween event, including all pumpkin card and ingredient locations, and assembling the formula.
General Overview
The Halloween event for 2023 starts on October 26th and will run for about 2 weeks. Completing the event will reward the player with a Halloween trophy and ID card badge.
You will need to go around to various maps and locate a glowing jack-o-lantern. It will have a recipe card in its mouth that needs to be collected before you escape. The check marks are required to craft the formula, so you can’t just skip collecting them all and use the recipe in this guide right away.
6 Tanglewood Drive
The jack-o-lantern can be found in the dining room, along the left wall, under a bench.
42 Edgefield Road
The jack-o-lantern is found on the second floor, in the blue bedroom (same room the voodoo doll is found in). The bedroom is at the end of the hall on the right before getting to the master bedroom. The jack-o-lantern is found between the desk and the bed.
10 Ridgeview Court
The jack-o-lantern is found in the basement, on the left side, on some shelves.
Grafton Farmhouse
The jack-o-lantern on Grafton Farmhouse is actually not found inside the building. Instead, it is found in the pumpkin patch behind the house. Stick to the right path along the side of the house and you will come to the patch on the right that has a scarecrow in it. On the left side of this cluster of pumpkins is the jack-o-lantern.
13 Willow Street
The jack-o-lantern at 13 Willow Street is not found within the house, but instead, outside by the bottom of the driveway.
Bleasdale Farmhouse
The jack-o-lantern on this map can be found in the attic. Once you are at the top of the stairs, head right, and it will be next to some boxes and random clutter.
Prison
The jack-o-lantern can be found in the security room outside of the cafeteria on a table by the window, straight back from the entry way
Maple Lodge Campsite
Maple Lodge Campsite has it’s own jack-o-lantern and recipe card on the map that must be obtained and extracted with before crafting the final formula. It can be found in the first room to the left when entering the sight (Campsite A), around the campfire between some benches.
Camp Woodwind
The jack-o-lantern on Camp Woodwind can be found immediately upon entering the site. Turn left as soon as you pass through the gatesand you will find it on the ground, next to the picnic benches.
Crafting the Formula
Once you have collected all the recipes cards, as indicated with a green check mark on top of the pumpkin stickers on the map selection screen, return to Maple Lodge Campsite.
I recommend doing this on a custom difficulty as you will have to be running back and forth across the map and collecting several items, and it is easier to do so without having to worry about the ghost. Under the ghost settings, enable the “friendly ghost” option to make it so the ghost will never hunt you. I also recommend turning the player speed to max (150%) under the “player” options.
Head to the campsite on the left side of the map (Campsite A) and you will see a cauldron over top of the campfire. This is where you will need to deposit all of the ingredients. The ingredients are found all around the map, depicted in the image below.
Bowl of Grins (x1)
Go to the cabin by the lake and enter the kitchen. To unlock the cabin, pick up the key under the welcome mat at the front door of the cabin. On the counter top is a bowl full of loose teeth. Pick it up and bring it to Campsite A.
Death’s Rot (x3)
When entering the site, go to the right, near the wood chopping area. There will be a crate that is open and spilling out a bunch of rotten fruit. The three apples on the left side must be picked up and brought to Campsite A. Be careful when you place these items down as they tend to roll around because the terrain is not perfectly flat and you may lose track of them.
Toe of Frog (x1)
Enter the reception building straight ahead from spawn. There is a frog plushie sitting on the main desk. This must be picked up and brought to Campsite A.
Sack of Beans (x3)
The sacks of beans you are looking for are actually bean bags from the bags/cornhole game set that can be found in Campsite A. They are on the activities table directly across from the campfire/ cauldron.
Light in the Dark (x1)
This recipe ingredient is actually referring to the flashlight equipment that you bring into the contract from the truck/van. The flashlight should be a default piece of equipment so you shouldn’t be in a contract without one. I personally completed the event by using the tier 3 flashlight as that is what I usually have equipped, but the formula should accept tier 1 and tier 2 flashlights just the same. You may want to bring an extra flashlight with you into the contract so you aren’t stuck without a mobile light source when you sacrifice your flashlight at Campsite A.
Jar of Mind (x1)
The Jar of Mind, as you can probably guess, is a brain floating in a glass container. It can be found in the entryway of the reception building, along the left wall on a table next to the couch. Bring this item to Campsite A.
Screaming Skull (x1)
The screaming skull looks different than the skull that sometimes spawns in as the bone evidence, so don’t get confused between the two. The one you are looking for has some flesh still on it and prominent front teeth. It can be found in the Campsite B area, straight behind the reception building, where the totem pole is. It is sitting on a wooden stump close by to the fire pit. Pick it up and bring it to Campsite A.
Love’s Blossom (x1)
The item you are looking for is a specific flower that can be found down by the lake. Along side the cabin, there are two chairs facing the water with skeletons sitting in them. One of the skeletons is holding the flower you need. Bring it back to Campsite A.
Eye of Bears (x2)
If you make your way to the bathroom building located behind Campsite A, the room on the right side (the male bathroom) will have two loose eyeballs found in the sink closest to the door. Pick them up and bring them to Campsite A. Be careful when you place these items down as they tend to roll around because the terrain is not perfectly flat and you may lose track of them.
Assembly
Once you have gathered all of the ingredients, you can begin putting them into the cauldron. It’s not necessary that you add them in all at once, and you can put them in one by one as you find them, but I find this method easier to keep track of. If you put in any item that isn’t one of the listed ingredients, the green goo will boil away and you can no longer complete the event during that contract. You will need to extract and return to Maple Lodge Campsite again to spawn a new cauldron and collect all the correct ingredients again.
Once you put in the last ingredient, a series of spirits will be released from the cauldron into the air. Then a giant red skull will appear in the sky above the site, and the sky will take on a red hue. At this point, you have essentially completed the event, and just need to extract.
Upon returning to the lobby, you will see that your trophy case now contains the Halloween 2023 Trophy, and you can customize your ID card background and badge from the main selection screen.
