With the impending Pokemon GO Gengar Special Raid Challenge, fans still have much time to prepare. The event was announced last week and is scheduled to release on Saturday, November 3.

Gengar is a Poison/Ghost-type Pokemon which means it is weak against Dark, Rock, Ghost, and Psychic-type Pokemon. However, it is strong against Normal, Fairy, Fighting, Bug, and Grass-type Pokemon. With a simple analysis of the characteristics of Gengar, here are the best counter against him.
10. Mewtwo
This is the best and strongest counter that you can use against Gengar. Make sure to use Mewtwo with Confusion and Shadow Ball.
9. Gengar
Gengar is categorized as a great counter for Gengar. Lick and Shadow Ball are the best combo for this raid battle.
8. Tyranitar
Similar to Gengar, Tyranitar is also categorized as a great counter. Tyranitar with Bite and Crunch is the best move set to take down Gengar.
7. Groudon
Groudon is also a good choice against Gengar. Use a Groudon with Mud Shot and Earthquake if you’re planning to raid Gengar.
6. Metagross
Metagross equipped with Zen Headbutt and Meteor Mash is the best choice to do raids.
