Pokemon GO Update Allow Players to Participate in Raid Battles From Home

Due to the on-going COVID-19 outbreak worldwide, Niantic has temporarily activated a new feature that will allow Pokemon GO players to participate in Raid Battles without leaving their homes.

As we all know, many cities and countries are now in quarantine which restricts their citizens from going outside. While some of the games don’t require players to move outside to continue playing these games, Pokemon GO is a different story.

Pokemon GO requires players to move around and explore the surroundings to find Pokemon and participate in different in-game activities. But due to the COVID-19 outbreak, most of Pokemon GO players are just staying at home.

To keep the game going, Pokemon GO introduced a new way to participate in Raid Battles. Here’s what the official blog post says,

“We’re enhancing our in-game virtual social features to enable players to stay in touch when they can’t meet in real life. You’ll soon be able to team up with friends and take on Raid Battles together in Pokémon GO from the comfort of home.”

Apart from the Raid Battles, the new update also brings additional features to keep the fanbase healthy while staying indoors.

“You can track your steps indoor with Adventure Sync so activities like cleaning your house and running on a treadmill count toward game achievements. We’re going to make improvements to Adventure Sync so it works even better with indoor movement and activities.”

What do you think of these new features in Pokemon GO? Are you going to participate in Raid Battles while eating your favourite food at home?
