Ahead of the leaked Steam Halloween Sales event, it seems that Valve is currently having some server issues on Steam.
As of writing, Steam users around the world are getting error code -118 on both Steam app and browser. There is no scheduled maintenance that has been announced, so seeing this downtime on the Steam store is very unusual.
Apart from the Steam Store, the Steam Community and Steam Web API are also having some server issues. The three mentioned Steam processes are offline and there is still no news when will it be restored.
What is Steam Error Code 118?
This is a common issue among Steam users. Some of the most common reason that triggers Error Code 118 are the PC’s firewall, internet connection, background applications, and virus. However, in this case, it seems that this issue is appearing worldwide and in our opinion, you don’t have to do anything.
When will it be fixed?
As mentioned above, Valve hasn’t released any statement yet. So in the meantime, we highly recommend bookmarking this page to get the latest update.
