Sunny village Beginner’s Guide and Tips

A few tips on how to build your village

How the game works

There are the following resources in the game:

– Money (red). Money is earned by selling goods, and is used to build and upgrade buildings, research technologies, etc. Money is easy to come by, and if you need more, just go to the bank and take out a loan.

– Tickets (purple). These basically represent political favors, and are earned by missions and selling goods at the dock. Tickets are used primarily to purchase building materials that you can’t produce yourself, such as glass, pipes, rubber, and wires. This is probably the hardest resource to come by, so you’ll want to minimize the amount of materials you need to purchase.

– Fame (yellow). This is earned by achievements, missions, and selling goods at the freight station. Unlike the other resources, fame is not spent, instead, it accumulates, and the more fame you have, the more types of buildings and upgrades you can unlock.

– Electricity and Water. Produced by water towers and power plants. Note that you’ll start getting buildings going idle, starting with the cement factory and steel mill, when either water or electricity use is around 80-90% capacity.

The missions

– There are two types, the regular missions, these don’t have a time limit, and sort of act as a tutorial, guiding you to build things in a logical sequence.

– The newspaper missions where you have to produce a large amount of a good and give it to the central government for free. These are time limited, typically 1-3 months. Not all of them are realistically achievable.

Upgrading buildings

– Level 1 buildings produce 1 good per time period.

– Level 2 will shorten the period it takes to produce a good.

– Level 3 will increase the number of goods produced to 2.

– Level 4 will shorten the period it takes to produce a good.

– Level 5 will increase the number of goods produced to 3.

And so on

Upgrading buildings gets expensive fast, requiring lots of building materials you need purple tickets for. I would recommend only upgrading the buildings that you automate.

Housing

– Early game, the traditional style houses are cheap to build and don’t require imported materials.

– Late game, once you have enough fame to unlock, build the mid-rise long “barrel style” buildings. The initial build only requires 1 imported material, glass, and it’s a more efficient use of imported purple ticket materials than upgrading the traditional buildings.

– The highrises use a huge amount of imported materials and are not worth it.

Dealing with the feral hogs

– If a feral hog runs across an agricultural production tile, it will interrupt production and cause it to go idle.

– Feral hogs don’t affect warehouses, cement, steel mill, housing, power plants, or water towers. Therefore to efficiently protect your farms, locate them all in the same area.

– There are some map tiles, especially those at the edges, that are never affected by the hogs.

Winning the game

– I don’t think there is a victory condition, though unlocking all the buildings and getting your admin building to Level 6 comes close.
