The Backrooms Survival Achievement Walkthrough

This guide aims to assist you in acquiring every achievement available in the game, which currently amounts to a total of 56 achievements.

Scheduled Programming

“Find a television”

Begin your gameplay either in singleplayer or multiplayer mode and spend some time exploring the backrooms. During your exploration, keep an eye out for random televisions scattered on the ground.

First Steps

“Reach Level 1”

In order to progress to the next level, you will need to locate a ladder. Explore the backrooms thoroughly to ensure you don’t miss it. Take the time to check every corner and room you come across for maximum assurance.

Hello..?

“Find a telephone”

This achievement is similar to the “Scheduled Programming” achievement. Simply continue roaming around the game, and before long, you will stumble upon a telephone placed on the ground.

Lucky Escape

“Survive being chased by an entity”

While navigating the backrooms, you will frequently encounter hostile entities that will pursue and attack you. Play the game as usual, and in due course, you will unlock this achievement.

Who let the dogs out?

“Encounter a hound”

A hound is an entity that may randomly appear in various levels. It is commonly found in the initial level, although it is possible to encounter it in any level throughout your playthrough.

Backtracking

“Return to a previous level”

To achieve this, you must discover a trapdoor that leads to a previous level. You may also come across it in the initial level where you start your gameplay.

Therapy

“Use a sanity pill”

During your exploration of the backrooms, it is common to find various items scattered on the floor. One such item is the sanity pill, which is typically found in orange “cans” and is not particularly rare.

Corrupted

“Enter the “negative” levels”

Utilize the trapdoor to descend to a lower level when you are in the first level. While there is a notion that negative levels are extremely dangerous, it might be an attempt to evoke fear. Are you feeling scared?

Say CHEESE!

“Encounter a smiler”

A smiler is a jumpscare entity that you are likely to encounter more frequently when your character’s sanity is low.

Explorer

“Reach Level 3”

For this achievement, you need to find a ladder three times within a single playthrough and reach the third level.

Swimming Lessons

“Find the “Poolrooms” level”

The appearance and timing of this level are entirely random. Keep playing the game, focusing on acquiring other achievements, and eventually, you will come across this level.

Ancient Mythology

“Find the “Greek labyrinth” level”

Similar to the previous achievement, this level’s appearance and timing are random. Continue playing for a while, concentrating on unlocking other achievements, and eventually, you will discover this level.

Party Starter

“Find “Level FUN”

Healing Remedy

“Obtain almond water”

Almond water is an item that you may randomly find while playing the game. As always, the key is to keep playing and you might come across it. Alternatively, if you encounter a trader, you might be able to purchase it from them.

Play Time

“Find a stuffed toy”

Once you find it, pick up the item to unlock the achievement. However, it is advisable not to pick it up again afterward unless you enjoy being pursued by creepy children who will scream at you. They won’t appear instantly, so there’s no need to panic.

Capital Punishment

“Find the “Torture Rooms”

The appearance and timing of this level are random. Continue playing for a while, focusing on achieving other milestones, and eventually, you will come across this level.

Dungeoneer

“Reach Level 5”

Similar to the “Explorer” achievement, you need to find ladders to progress to higher levels. This time, you will need to find a total of five ladders to unlock this achievement if you start from the beginning.

You’re On Fire!

“Surviving being set ablaze”

There is an entity that has the ability to set you on fire. If you manage to survive the encounter, you will earn this achievement. It’s always a good idea to have some medkits on hand.

Bleeding Out

“Stop yourself from bleeding”

When you start bleeding, use a bandage or medkit to stop the bleeding. I can’t recall the exact cause of bleeding, but it’s likely that an entity needs to inflict damage on you.

Self Service

“Use a vending machine”

You will randomly come across a trader in any level. Interact with the trader and make a purchase to unlock this achievement.

Demon Slayer

“Kill any entity with a weapon”

To earn this achievement, you need to obtain a weapon. Weapons can be found randomly, such as a wooden board, or crafted using blueprints and the necessary materials. Deal damage to an entity by attacking it multiple times, and then let the “demon” approach you to defeat it.

Desperate Measures

“Eat a corpse”

Well, if you’re into eating corpses, go ahead and consume one to unlock this achievement. I personally found them more often while playing multiplayer. If you can’t find any corpses while playing singleplayer and don’t have friends to play with, try opening a multiplayer lobby, either private or public, and play there.

The Trespasser

“Unlock a locked door”

A locked door is characterized by its wooden structure with chains wrapped around it. You need a small key to open it. However, be aware that opening certain doors can be rather pointless, and you will discover why soon enough.

Feeling Lucky?

“Drink a “Dubious Liquid””

Similar to other items, you can find the poison bottle randomly or through trading. Be cautious about its effects, as it can poison you.

Safe-Cracker

“Unlock a safe”

Safes can be found attached to walls and can be unlocked with a small key. However, they may not appear in all levels. Keep searching for that key!

The Big City

“Find the “City”

The appearance and timing of this level are random. Keep playing for a while, focusing on achieving other milestones, and eventually, you will come across this level. Be cautious of the lava, as it causes damage.

The appearance and timing of this level are random. Keep playing for a while, focusing on achieving other milestones, and eventually, you will come across this level. Be cautious of the lava, as it causes damage.

Saving Up

“Collect 10 Backcoins”

Backcoins can be found lying on the floor in any level. They have a slight shine to them, making them easier to spot. You can also obtain Backcoins through trading.

Sub Zero

“Discover the “snowy” levels”

The appearance and timing of this level are random. Continue playing for a while, focusing on achieving other milestones, and eventually, you will come across this level. In this level, you can also complete the “´Tis The Season” achievement, if I remember correctly.

Old Kingdom

“Discover the “Castle” levels”

Similar to the previous two achievements, the appearance and timing of this level are random. Keep playing for a while, focusing on achieving other milestones, and eventually, you will come across this level.

Through The Roof

“Unlock and climb through an air vent”

You need to acquire a screwdriver and then search for an air vent on the ceiling. The vent emits distinct loud noises, making it easier to locate.

Snack Break

“Consume HNT Backrooms-Carpet flavoured crisps”

As with other items, you can find the sandwich randomly or through trading. Once you find it, consume it!

Networking

“Buy an item from a friendly entity”

As the description suggests, the trader spawns randomly. Quite surprising, isn’t it?

Bodybuilding

“Eat a protein bar”

You need to eat a protein bar for this achievement. I hope I don’t have to explain it any further. You can find or trade for a protein bar.

Artisan

“Find a crafting blueprint”

I don’t want to sound repetitive or bore you, but you simply have to find it. And guess what? It also spawns randomly! However, if you choose the “???” class, you might find it more quickly.

Over-hydration

“Consume Axolotl water”

Find the energy drink and consume it. You may find it randomly, purchase it from a trader, or even find it in a vending machine. It’s all about that random element!

Dungeon Master

“Reach Level 10”

Find and climb ten ladders within a single playthrough! I believe in you, you can do it.

Raising Capital

“Sell an item”

When you encounter a trader, sell some of your items to them. This achievement might also work if you use a vending machine, but I can’t recall for sure.

Imposter

“See a skin stealer transform”

This particular entity, known as a “sussy baka,” is both unsightly and noisy. It occasionally disguises itself as a human being, so keep a close eye on it when it changes its appearance. Avoid getting too close!

Miracle Drink

“Drink “Super Almond Water””

Stay hydrated! The item is quite rare and might be found more quickly if you play as the ” ” class.

Hidden Treasure

“Unlock a “big chest””

To unlock this achievement, you must find a big key to open a large chest. Don’t forget to loot its contents. As always, the spawn of the key and chest is random.

Improvised Weaponry

“Find a nailgun”

Find a nailgun, either through exploration or by crafting it if you have the necessary materials and blueprints. You can do it!

Adrenaline Boost

“Use a shot of adrenaline”

The description already explains it. I often found it while exploring, so let’s get searching!

Bulletproof

“Equip body armor”

Kevlar vests can be found. If you choose the “Streamer” class when creating your character, you may find the armor more quickly. Once you find it, equip it!

Quick Fix

“Repair a weapon”

You need to completely destroy your weapon and then repair it afterward. Repair kits are usually found easily. Get moving!

Entomophobia

“Encounter a death moth!”

I encountered them quite frequently, so it shouldn’t be a problem for you either. You should find them in most levels. They have a distinctive rattling sound similar to a snake.

Forge

“Upgrade a weapon”

As far as I can remember, you can find upgrade kits to enhance your weapon’s strength and durability. Good luck finding or crafting a weapon and then locating or crafting this kit! You might die a few times along the way.

Health Hazard

“Cure yourself from poison”

Some entities or levels can poison you. Find and consume Antivenom while poisoned to unlock this achievement. Alternatively, Almond Water or Super Almond Water should also help, as they heal all ailments.

Cant Feel A Thing

“Consume a painkiller”

It’s pretty simple. Find a painkiller and use it! You might need to be slightly damaged to activate it, but I’m not entirely sure. Give it a try once you obtain it!

Improvise. Adapt. Overcome.

“Craft an item”

Find a blueprint and gather all the necessary materials to construct it. Try building a weapon that is not too expensive.

‘Tis The Season

“Kill “Santa”…”

Santa can only be found in snowy levels. He is not stronger than other entities. Defeat him to unlock the achievement!

Medieval Warfare

“Obtain a crossbow”

Find or craft a crossbow to unlock this achievement.

Thirsty

“Drink 25 Liquids”

I’m not entirely sure if you have to consume 25 liquids within a single playthrough, but I can attempt to find out for you! Choosing the “Janitor” class when creating your character might help you find more food.

Similar to “Thirsty,” choosing the “Janitor” class when creating your character might help you find more food.
