The lowest difficulty level of the game provides a relatively easy experience, catering to players who prefer a smooth storytelling journey without excessive grinding. Surprisingly, Cuana offers an engaging and immersive storyline. The normal difficulty level strikes a good balance between challenge and enjoyment, although it can still present some difficulties. On the other hand, the hardest difficulty level seems almost impossible to conquer, mainly due to the unpredictable spawning patterns of non-playable characters (NPCs). In certain cases, NPCs spawn in positions that leave no blind spots for the protagonist, making the game incredibly challenging. In such situations, it is recommended to retry the level until NPCs spawn in a way that allows for a less pressured and more manageable experience.
Interestingly, both the first and last levels of the game prove to be the most challenging. The initial level, known as the “Bus level,” poses a formidable challenge, even on normal difficulty. The optimal strategy here is to incapacitate the sole walking NPC, then locate a secluded spot where you can release all the gases without being detected. The beans required for creating a fartmine or fartbomb can be found behind the driver’s seat. These beans are readily available from the beginning on easy and normal difficulty levels, while on hard difficulty, the can of beans may take some time to spawn.
The “School level” is relatively easier, with the caveat of avoiding farting in front of NPCs who display a red exclamation mark above their heads. Instead, release gas near objects, furniture, or water cooling machines. The fastest way to succeed is to render the IT room professor unconscious and destroy all the computers, thereby rapidly increasing the destruction level. Remember to keep an eye on the top-right part of the screen, as an eye icon indicates when someone sees you. Refrain from farting if you are being observed.
In the “Market level,” it is necessary to incapacitate at least three NPCs to complete the level successfully. Beans spawn when the havoc bar reaches its full capacity. Fart in front of everything as almost all objects can be destroyed in this level. Once your havoc meter is full, a can of beans will spawn in a random location. Grab it and use it to knock out another NPC, which will cause the awareness meter to decrease. That’s precisely your objective!
The “Café level” can prove quite challenging on higher difficulty settings. Destroy everything in sight, collect beans, and use a fart bomb to incapacitate the musicians individually. Each disabled musician alters the music tune. As with any applicable level, refrain from farting near the protagonist’s love interest and her suitor Greg (who strangely resembles Elvis) to avoid instantly failing the level.
The “Airport level” is relatively straightforward regardless of the chosen difficulty. The objective is to create enough chaos to make the guard in the VIP area abandon their post. This occurs when the havoc bar is filled. Fart near luggage, water coolers, computers, and trash cans, but ensure that no one with a red exclamation mark sees you doing so. Once the VIP guard relocates, grab beans from the counter and incapacitate the pilot, easily identifiable by their uniform. Note that beans won’t spawn in the waiting area; the only place to find them is at the counter in the VIP area. Bonus tip: The captain’s attendants won’t notice you farting.
The “Airplane level” can become extremely challenging on higher difficulty settings. It resembles the bus level, but the airplane’s air conditioning tends to filter out the smell. The best approach is to incapacitate an NPC who has a clear view of a secluded area where you can discreetly release gas without being detected. Afterward, continue farting as necessary.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the game, as it never fails to bring a smile to my face
. While it may be tempting to choose the easiest setting, the real enjoyment begins at the normal difficulty level. Although I haven’t managed to conquer the game on the hardest difficulty setting yet, I believe there must be a way to do so. If NPCs spawn in unfavorable locations, don’t hesitate to hit the retry button and give it another try.
