Infinity Ward just dropped the newest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and while its main goal is to fix the known issues, it brings a distressing error in the game. For some reason, Call of Duty players was unable to play the game due to the corrupted data notification when they logged in.
The pop-up notification is telling users that their data has been corrupted or didn’t download properly, also informing that players should reset their ranks and unlocks to continue to the game.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare quickly acknowledged the issue and told the users not to take any given actions from the prompt. Instead, they recommend to hard close the application.
We're currently investigating an issue where players are getting an error prompt informing them their data is corrupt or did not download properly. Please do not select either option, but please hard close your application. Thank you for your patience while we work on this issue.

As of writing, Infinity Ward is yet to release an update to fix the issue. In the meantime, players will just have to use the temporary solution to bypass the on-going corrupted and rank-reset issue.
For players who already took action and accepted the prompt, their Call of Duty: Modern Warfare combat records, operators, custom classes, and other stats related information will be reset. While the weapons and other in-game progressions will be retained.
