How to Optimize Your Haul in Lethal Company

This guide is meant to give general game play tips & specific strategies on how to optimize your haul.

Before reading

This guide is broken up into 2 strategies:

  • The Low Risk Strat
  • The High Risk Strat

If you are newish player and just started, I recommend the Low Risk Strat.

If you feel comfortable with all the enemies, have experience on all maps & have a coordinated team. I recommend the High Risk Strat.

SPOILERS IN THE HIGH RISK SECTION

The Low Risk Strat

When you are a new, inexperienced player; you should try to stick to living quota to quota.

QUOTA 1~ 3:

As a beginner, it is recommended to stick to the first three maps (easy maps). It should be known that these maps have less difficult enemies and less enemies in general. With the downside of less total loot population. They have about 200~500 in salvage. (average values)

  • The only real exception that should be made is if you get every beginner moon with a weather condition other than rainy or foggy.
  • The strategy involves buying 1 pro flashlight, and 2 walkies and one guy keeps their 4 slots.
  • 1 person goes into fire entrance to grab easy loot, the other 2 should go in main entrance way, and the last is helping keep the team together using radar back at ship.
  • Everyone should be in the building at 9:00 AM
  • I would recommend the team leaving by 5:00~6:00 PM to avoid the risk of encountering something that could ruin the haul outside.

In all honestly, this should be enough to get you to quota 1~3 easily.

I recommend selling only what is needed to get the quota value, so you have scrap left for reaching the next.

After this first quota you should spend your money on getting 1-2 shovels for snare fleas, hoarding bugs, thumpers etc.

Then I recommend saving for a teleporter for any unanswered casualties.

The rest can go into self defense tools, or replacing lost equipment.

QUOTA 4+:

Here you should start expanding the scope; You should start attempting the intermediate maps (Offense & March.) These offer much more expansive loot pools (500~800 in sell value.)

Although be weary, many more “deadly” monsters start showing up here. I recommend the same strategy with 1 exception. When one person out of facility is hauling back the scrap, The radar person goes inside. This speeds up the looting process quite a bit but has a temporary time of no guided direction.

With optimization this strategy can reliably get you to around Quota 6

Quick Note

A quick note before I go into the High Risk Strat

The Medium risk strategy I wrote before publishing this was included, but I feel as though it’s valueless as it’s just a baby version of the High Risk strat.

If you’d like a medium risk strat do the same thing as the Low Risk, but just skip staying in the easy maps, sell more scrap than just needed, and buy better equipment.

The High Risk Strat

This is the strategy I go to with my regular squad.

QUOTA 1:

Whoa this is packed alright.

  • Ditch the Walkies and the easy moons whenever you can. Buy 2 pro flashlights. 14 hands is just better than 10. (If you only need 1 flashlight because you have a mega gamer, just save. You’re pretty likely to find a stop sign.)
  • 2 people go in main door, 2 people in fire entrance. One flashlight per each group.
  • If the main part of the facility is locked behind a security door, just make sure the first guy to haul back loot opens it for the rest. While he’s there he can remember the location of loot that may have been missed by the crew.
  • You should be running the days around 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM. Your big boys now don’t doubt yourself.
  • This should net you 400~800 Scrap depending on the moon seed.

(A quick reminder that finding a coil head does not mean early leave! Get one crew to stare at it for the whole time. Or if you can, lock it behind a security door.)

If you, for whatever reason, did not get enough scrap to buy into Titan; or if Titan is eclipsed. I recommend starting again. Getting to Titan by 2nd quota is not bad by any means, but we’re looking for a snowball effect.

QUOTA 2:

Okay, so now you and your crew pulled off the biggest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quota 1 heist and you now have 700+ in value.

Route that baby to Titan and listen up.

Titan is a different beast when it comes to it’s loot pool. It has an average of 1500~2200 scrap value for you to get your mitts on.

The enemies are also on a different level, I average about 2~3 coil heads per facility and occasionally a jester.

  • This is definitely going to require speed and precision, Ditch 1 flashlight and bring your trusty shovel/stop sign. You now travel as a group to main entrance, try to stay together but not glued to each other.
  • Once you’ve drained all the easy scrap out of main entrance, go back and drop all your 2 handed items off the edge onto the catwalk directly to the left of the staircase. This saves tremendous time. Alternatively, you can do this strategy with an extension ladder to get it all the way down past the catwalk.

  • Head off to fire exit and continue to loot. Contrary to popular opinion. I like to run a 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM on Titan if I can help it. (Most of the time your run gets cut early ~3:00 PM though.)
  • Whenever you get done looting fire exit, fill your hands with 3 small items and whatever 2 handed items you got from fire exit. Sprint Jump forward off the platform to ship YOU DO NOT DIE DOING THIS, NOR GET CRITICALLY INJURED. Deposit what you got and determine if it’s safe to go back for the previously dropped 2 handers.
  • Keep running titan until It’s quota time.
  • Whoo that was alot. It would be nice to always get 2100+ Scrap from these runs, but 1400+ Is the target goal at the end of the quotas. (If your better than us you can get 3000+ per quota.)

Quota 3+:

  • Keep running the same strategy every quota, with one exception
  • Buy teleporter, inverse teleporter can be used also if you don’t want to adopt the next strategy.
  • Buying 4 jetpacks in total whenever you can. YES I’M SERIOUS…
  • This allows you to run Titan even on eclipse. Not only does this maximize your time travelling to Titan, but it’s also the coolest feeling ever.
  • The reason I say this is hard to explain so I will link this as my explanation; but in short, this allows you to fly up the staircase, dodging monsters as well as making a lightning quick get-away.

*Watch first 30 seconds of this video to see why Jetpacks are actually worth it.

The only way I see an immediate moon evacuate is if a Jester is spotted, but remember you have 40 seconds after spotting it to GTFO!

This strategy can get you to a very high quota number, but not infinitely because of the ridiculous scaling of the later quotas.
