Kimetsu no Yaiba Anime Film Hits #1 in the US Earning Around $9.5 Million

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train has been reportedly becoming the most-watched films in the US according to Box Office Mojo. In a new report released on April 24th, Box Office Mojo believed that the Japanese anime movie has already earned around $9.5 million during its premiere in the United States.

It’s interesting to see that an anime film from the east has been conquering the world. Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train has been released in the US theaters along with some formidable films such as Mortal Kombat and Godzilla vs. Kong.

The first film for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been initially released in Japan on October 16, 2020. As expected, the anime has become the number 1 movie in Japan since its release, breaking a number of records in the film industry.

According to the reports, the Mugen Train has garnered more than 3.4 million tickets sold in the country during its first three days, earning around $43.85 million.

Following its release in Japan, the production company responsible for the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train has started the distribution of the film around the world. The first batch release of the film was seen in most of the Asian theaters such as the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, and more.

After a few months of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba movie invasion in Asia, the staff has also started screening the movie in the west.

Aniplex of America and Funimation Entertainment began screening the Mugen Train anime film in theaters on April 23, 2021, in North America. Knowing that there are still lots of fans who are patiently waiting for the digital release, both company has announced that the distribution of the digital version will be on June 22, 2021.
