Currently, Android is the most used and most popular operating system for mobile devices. Its system is based on a modified version of the Linux kernel and other open-source software.

Compared to its competitor, iOS by Apple, Android can be used by anyone who wants to test this operating system. Google unveiled Android in 2007 and gets its first commercial Android device in September 2008.

Following its launch in 2008, Google continues to launch a new version of this operating system each year. To make things more interesting, Google gave a unique name on each Android version. Below is the list of all Android OS versions and their names:

I know you’re wondering what the latest Android 10 doesn’t have its unique name. Unfortunately, Google has decided to no longer use dessert names for the newest Android version. Having that said, Android 10 will be simply known as Android 10 from now on.
