One Piece Anime is Officially Coming to Netflix, Release Date Announced

Following the reveal of One Piece live-action adaptation, Netflix has officially announced that the One Piece anime is also coming to the platform.

According to the announcement, One Piece anime on Netflix will be covering the first two arcs of the series. Meaning, fans will be seeing Luffy once again conquering the East Blue and Alabasta. Starting on June 12, 2020, Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates will be sailing the seas of East Blue and Alabasta!

If you’re not familiar with One Piece, it is one of the biggest and longest anime series in history. Currently, the anime is now in the Wano Country arc where the main protagonist is about to face one of the strongest Yonko in the sea.

Eiichiro Oda is the author of the One Piece who already received a lot of achievements and recognitions worldwide. Luffy and his dream of becoming the King of Pirates are still in progress. As of writing, One Piece manga already got 978 chapters.

More About One Piece

One Piece follows the story of Monkey D. Luffy, the user of Gum-Gum Devil Fruit, who wants to be the new Pirate King. Luffy was inspired by Red Haired Shanks, one of the most powerful pirates. Along with his pirate group named the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy explores the vast world of One Piece in search of the treasure known as “One Piece” and becomes the new King of the Pirates.

One Piece is a manga series written by Eiichiro Oda. Since the manga has been serialized in July 1997, it already reached a total of 99 volumes. The manga series is part of Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. Apart from the original manga series, One Piece has started airing the anime adaptation in 1999. One Piece has also received several anime films with the latest movie titled One Piece: Stampede that have been released in 2019.
