Following the Abra Community Day a few weeks ago, Niantic has officially announced that the event will be postponed. Due to the Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, Pokemon GO decided to temporarily suspend the upcoming event to ensure the safety of its players.
The upcoming Pokemon GO Abra Community Day was scheduled on March 15th, along with the in-game bonuses that players usually get during the event. Pokemon GO developer did not reveal when it will be resumed.
The safety of our global player community is our top priority. COVID-19 is challenging us and the world to adjust. We’re putting our focus on expanding features and experiences in our games that can be enjoyed in an individual setting and that also encourage exploration!

While the event has been put on hiatus, Pokemon GO players will be experiencing in-game bonuses. These includes:
- A one-time purchase bundle of 30 Incense for 1 PokéCoin. Incense will also last for one hour.
- 1/2 Hatch Distance when Eggs are placed into Incubators during this time period
- PokeStops will now drop Gifts more frequently
- Pokémon habitats will increase and more Pokémon will be appearing in the wild
The mentioned features above will last until Niantic announce the new schedule for the upcoming Abra Community Day.
