It’s already December, and in Pokemon GO, it only means that a new set of Field Research Tasks are available in the game.
For players who can complete all the research tasks, they will be rewarded to encounter one of the Legendary Pokemon that have been released in the past. Also, as they progress to the game, lots of in-game bonuses will be given.
December Field Research Tasks and Rewards
As of writing, these are the confirmed field research tasks that you can complete. This list is subject to change anytime as soon as we get a new task for December’s Field Research Tasks.
Throws
- Make a Great Curveball Throw – Spinda #6
- Make 3 Curveball Throws in a Row – Golduck
- Make 3 Great Throws – Gastly
- Make 3 Great Throws in a Row – Onix
- Make 5 Nice Throw – Voltorb
- Make 3 Excellent Throws in a Row – Larvitar
Catch
- Catch 3 Grass-, Water, or Fire-type Pokemon – Numel
- Catch 10 Pokemon – Magikarp
- Catch 5 Pokemon with Weather Boost – Poliwag or Vuplix
- Catch a Dragon-type Pokemon – Dratini
Gym and Raid Battles
- Battle in a Gym – Mankey
- Battle in a Gym 5 times – Machop
- Win a Gym Battle – Bulbasaur
- Win 3 Gym Battles – Jynx
- Win a Raid – Porygon
- Use a Supereffective Charged Attack in 7 Gym Battles – Electabuzz
Evolution and Power-up
- Power Up Pokemon 5 Times – Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle
- Power Up Pokemon 10 Times – 3 Silver Pinap berries
- Evolve a Pokemon – Eevee
Special Item
- Power up Pokémon 10 times – 3 Silver Pinap berries
Miscellaneous
- Transfer 10 Pokemon – Misdreavus
- Trade a Pokemon – Feebas
- Hatch an Egg – Lanturn or Exeggcute
- Hatch 3 Eggs – Magmar

- Send 5 Gifts to Friends – Golbat
Completing all the challenges will be rewarded to encounter one of the following Legendary Pokemon: Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, Suicune, Raikou, or Entei

It’s worth noting that you’ll find some of the listed encounters already have the Gen 4 evolution such as Mismagius and Porygon-Z.
