Red Dead Redemption 2: How To Fix Dueling Bug

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a classic western themed game. One of the things that resemble classic western is the duel. Basically, you have to be faster and aims better to take down your opponent.

Dueling is fun until you encountered the bug that will disarm you and bring you to death. PS4 DualShock 4 owners have been reporting about the dueling bug that stops them from drawing the gun.

Usually, when dueling in Red Dead Redemption 2, you have to hold R2 until you fill the gauge, then quickly tap R2 again to enter the Deadeye phase. Then aiming at your opponent to finally get a kill or disarm them.

Unfortunately, DualShock 4 users reported that the second R2 when entering the Deadeye phase in not registering, leaving them on an open space waiting for their death. Many players already reported this issue on Reddit, but it seems like there is still no update for this matter. Fortunately, we have found an alternative solution to fix this issue.

How To Fix Dueling Bug

To fix the glitch, go to the Settings menu, then Controls, and look for the Third Person Control option and change it to Alternate. This will swap the L2 and R2 buttons with L1 and R1. So instead of drawing the gun with R2, you can pull the gun using the R1 button. This temporarily solves the bug that is currently existing in the DualShock 4.

Of course, this could be a little annoying since you are not familiar with the controls. You have the option to keep the setting or revert it to the normal settings which you are familiar

Since this is just a temporary fix for the dueling bug, you have to do this method every time you want to duel. Else, you might encounter the DualShock 4 dueling bug that will cause your life in Red Dead Redemption 2.
