Nintendo Switch Lite Specifications, Price, and Release Date Announced

Following the series of leaks a few months ago, Nintendo has officially revealed and announced Nintendo Switch Lite, a smaller and lighter version of the original Nintendo Switch.

The new Nintendo Switch Lite is a complete hybrid portable console. It has a 5.5-inch touch screen display but unlike the original Switch, the Switch Lite has no HDMI port and can no longer connect to your smart TV or with the Switch dock. As seen on the trailer, the controllers are not also detachable but you will be able to connect Joy-Con wirelessly to the Switch Lite.

Nintendo Switch Lite will officially release on September 20th for just $200 USD and it will come into three different colors – yellow, gray and turquoise. While there are three confirmed colors of the Nintendo Switch Lite, the company has also announced that a limited version will be released on November 8th.

In celebration with the upcoming new Pokemon games, Pokemon Sword and Shield, the limited edition will be called Nintendo Switch Lite Zacian and Zamazenta. Zacian and Zamazenta are the newest Legendary Pokemon that has been added on the Pokedex in the Pokemon world.
