5 Similarities of Izuku Midoriya from MHA and Rock Lee from Naruto

As you may know, Rock Lee from the Naruto anime bears a striking resemblance to Izuku Midoriya aka Deku from Boku no Hero Academia! What are the parallels? Let’s take a look at the list in the following article!

Both Started from Nothing

Neither Rock Lee nor Deku can wield the necessary power to achieve their objectives. Rock Lee had been unable to use Ninjutsu and Genjutsu since childhood, despite his desire to become a ninja, while Deku lacked a quirk despite his desire to be a hero.

Nonetheless, Rock Lee eventually focused on Taijutsu and aspired to be a ninja who didn’t require Ninjutsu or Genjutsu. Deku, on the other hand, managed to impress All Might, who granted him the power of One For All so that Deku could achieve his Heroic goals.

Their Teacher’s Name Contains the Word “Might”

Might Guy, Rock Lee’s teacher, teaches him how to maximize Taijutsu techniques. Might Guy himself is a ninja known as a Taijutsu Master. Deku, like Rock Lee, possesses All Might, which grants him the power of One For All.

All Might, like Deku, was devoid of eccentricities! So, not only do both Rock Lee and Deku have teachers whose names contain the element “Might,” but they also have similarities with their respective teachers!

Their Costumes are Both Green

Of course, when it comes to superheroes, they must have their own distinct costumes. Similarly, Deku wore the costume that his mother had originally made for him. The odd thing is that Deku’s costume matches Rock Lee’s, which is green. The similarity between the two is enhanced by the use of the same color!

The difference is that, whereas Deku’s costume was made by his mother, Rock Lee’s ninja costume was given to him by his teacher, Might Guy.

Deku and Rock Lee Uses Physical Attacks

Rock Lee and Deku, as you may know, both use physical attacks. Although Deku did not have a quirk at first, the One For All power he received increased his physical strength, so Deku’s moves were mostly close-range physical attacks.

Even though Rock Lee lacks Ninjutsu and Genjutsu, his Taijutsu technique is so powerful that he can reach Jonin level!

Their Attacks Can Destroy Their Body

Deku’s attacks, at least at the beginning of the My Hero Academia series, always resulted in him injuring himself. I’m not sure if it’s just his fingers or his entire arm and leg. Some might argue that if Deku’s body isn’t trained, using One For All will destroy it.

Similarly, Rock Lee and his Hachimon technique, also known as his eight gates. The more chakra gates he opens, the more dangerous his body becomes. Indeed, as Might Guy has demonstrated, opening the eighth gate can result in death!

That’s a total of five similarities between Deku and Rock Lee! Isn’t it fascinating? If you have any suggestions, please leave them in the comments section below!
